Curiouser and curiouser

BBC America has been playing James Bond films all day and I've been watching for lack of anything better being on. Right now they've got The World is Not Enough running and just had the scene where Elektra and Renard go in to where they're holding M captive. As Elektra raved about her father and M leaving her to rot, about the 'kingdom' her father stole from her mother and that she'll take back, I was suddenly struck by the similarities the situation has to Merlin.

Elektra really sounded like Morgana, going on about how much she hated M and her father for betraying her by leaving her with her kidnappers, just like Morgana went on about Uther and Merlin betraying her by keeping the truth of her bloodline a secret and trying to kill her. M was rather like Merlin in this situation, someone who had been forced to make a terrible choice and had ultimately helped destroy a person of such promise, while Renard was kind of a Morgause-like figure, who offered acceptance and love and gained a devoted and willing follower.

Is it a sign of just how bored I am that I'm making these kinds of connections?
