Thanks! I keep remembering the look on Gwaine's face even at the end of his scene with Agravaine, and he just didn't look like a man who had accepted Agravaine's excuses. I think he just went along with it because getting Gaius to safety was more important than confronting Agravaine for the moment.

Heh, yes, Gwen is definitely a dangerous obstacle. Get her angry, and she scarier than the lot of them. ;)

Enjoyed this--really nice to read gen fic, especially about Agravaine. And you're not the only one who's had that theory about Gwaine.

I especially liked the implication that Agravaine, drinking alone, is becoming more like Uther than he knows without realizing it.

Very impressive! I love your way with words and I loved how you described Aggravaine's twisting, turning thought processes and his growing awareness that as mild-mannered as Arthur's "serving boy" seems, he is a force to be reckoned with.

I find Agravaine intriguing too! I'm dying to know his motivations, what made him choose Morgana, Uther's illegitimate child, over Arthur, Ygraine's son, and so really hope to hear something about it.

Oh, I really liked this. I think you caught Agravaine really well, his thoughts and the way he's analysing everyone - and the fact that he knows he is in danger from Merlin. Because Merlin is SCARY when he's angry. And I loved the end - the little thoughts about Uther and then Agravaine pushing them away. Great fic!

Oh, definitely, Merlin is terrifying when he's pissed off. See how he reacted to Nimueh trying to claim Hunith and Gaius' lives, or how he nearly tackled Aredian. Screw with the people he loves, and he will gut you.

The last part about Uther was actually part of another point I'd initially wanted to into, more backstory, but I decided that I wanted to keep the story as canon as possible and leave the majority of his motives as mysterious as they are in the actual show.
