this season is blowing my mind! so much awesome physical comedy last episode. i was doubling over every five minutes.
and so much yes to gwen being awesome. ngl, my favourite arthur/gwen moments are the adorkable hilarious ones. i prefer them being the dorky ridiculous couple rather than being all ~oh look at us, we are so serious and tragic with our love. THIS SHOW SHOULD JUST DO COMEDY ALL THE TIME ;__;
Yeah, they've had trouble hitting the right note for comedy in the past, but this year? OMG. So incredible.
Hee, yes, Gwen and Arthur giving each other dorky, awkward looks of "Omg I like you but I am a total nerd and at a loss as to how to express it" is probably the best format for these two. There's so much seriousness about them that it's good to see them fall into these farce-like situations. So cute! :D
They can't bring Mordred back yet - he knows who Merlin is. We're keeping that one secret for a while from Morgana so they have to wait until they've used up the plot first. I expect we'll see him again afer Morgana can finally know about Merlin's power level.
I really am meanming to write a fic/meta about why Merlin doesn't use his magic and also his behaviour. WHY does Merlin act so rude to Gaius and Gwen? Morgana would want that, she hates them both. Does the Fomorrah have some link to her? Does it make Merlin act the way she might want to? I don't know if there's any real back up to this but it's very interesting and I really do want to play with it.
Glorious episode, one of my favourites ever for various, various reasons.
Alas, that's probably true. They have to wait until Morgana finds out, and then Mordred can come back and the two of them can be all evil and vengeful together.
I think it's possible that if it doesn't have a direct link to Morgana, then it was imbued with her thoughts and feelings when she created it from the big coin thing. She put her mentality into the spell that brought it to life, so it gained something of her attitude, and that showed forth in Merlin.
But yes, one of the best episodes ever. Of course, I seem to be saying that practically every week this series. Series 4 FTW!
Oh definitely. I mean, just about every episode so far this year has been wonderful in one way or another. Not a single dud to be had, and I'm hoping they'll keep up with the quality levels they've established so far. :)
