The Continuing Saga of Stargate Ratings...

You can read the article here.

"... SCI FI Channel's ratings woes continue, as the network tries to figure out what happened to a quarter of its audience during the spring break."

*snorts*  Well, I think the answer's pretty obvious.  Delaying BSG's premiere until October, moving everything back an hour, really weird lead-ins that seem to be doing ( Read more... )

There was a rant somewhere on LJ that explains ratings and what really is going on. The gist of it was that they aren't advertising on other channels like last year.

*looks for article*

I give a big DITTO to everything you just said. Sci-fi is killing themselves by doing all the crazy things they have been. *shakes fist at TPTB*

Let's hope that the return of Jack for the 200th eps brings in some good ratings.

I have a feeling that RDA's guest starring on both SG-1 and Atlantis will have a good impact on the ratings. People just love the idea of him coming back to visit. The key thing would be to keep those ratings once he's gone again.

Also, the link to the rant that Raven left is a real eye-opener. I suggest you take a look too if you want. :)

I agree with you on this. I mean, what the hell are TPTB thinking? Really, what are the execs trying to do anyway? You'd think that they could see cause and effect and make a bit more logical decisions. Sigh... I just hope it's not another case of Farscape, or the struggle that B5 was, staying on the air.

I hereby nominate you as the voice of reason and retribution. Let's hope that the voice is heard. *HR nods decisively* *grin*

Oh yeah, I really don't want to see what happened to B5 again. Though, I know when Crusade got cancelled, it wasn't really due to ratings. TNT was being a real pain in the ass, from what I heard about it. Kept interfering with how JMS wanted to write the show, wanting the big introduction episode instead of just letting him jump into things, wanting more sex and stuff like that. *rolls eyes* And then there was that whole movie thing a year ago, wanting to recast the roles of the characters. *is horrified* I mean, who else could play these characters to such perfection?! *headdesk* Sometimes people are so stupid. I mean, really.
