SIX PAIRINGS THAT I LIKE:
1. Merlin/Arthur (Merlin BBC)
2. Gwen/Arthur (Merlin BBC)
3. Anne/Henry (The Tudors)
4. Helen/John (Sanctuary)
5. Sarah/Chuck (Chuck)
6. Elizabeth/Peter (White Collar)
THREE SHIPS I’VE ABANDONED:
7. Abby/Gibbs (NCIS)
8. Elizabeth/John (SGA)
9. Sam/Jack (SG-1)
[Not so much as abandoned, I still like them, but I’m just not doing anything with them anymore.]
THREE SHIPS I’VE NEVER LIKED:
10. Abby/McGee (NCIS)
11. Helen/Will (Sanctuary)
12. Jane/Henry (The Tudors)
TWO SHIPS THAT HAVE PIQUED MY INTEREST:
13. Sarah/Neal (White Collar)
14. EJ/Tony (NCIS)
1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
I just don’t think they’d fit together well. As friends, as mentor and protégé, yes, but as lovers? I don’t think that Will has the perspective to be able to keep up with Helen. Of course, she’s over a hundred and he’s… what? In his early thirties, max? I don’t know many guys who could handle a relationship with someone as complex and almost other-worldly as Helen Magnus.
2. Who do you know that ships #13?
Er, no idea. I’m not really active with the White Collar fandom. I just watch the show religiously and it’s awesome.
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Hah. Could I just settle for Henry not killing her? Douche bag. Really, I’d say that one of Anne’s miscarried children lived and turned out to be a boy, which would have meant that she was safe at Henry’s side forever. No one could have dislodged her from her place as his queen if one of her boys had lived.
4. What is your favorite moment for #1?
Hm, that’s a tough question, considering I love these two in practically almost every scene they have together. I think I’d say the Round Table scene in The Coming of Arthur, Part 2. Though I know that some people didn’t like that the writers fell back on humor to get Merlin to join with Arthur in agreeing to go save Uther and free Camelot, but I still think that it was a great moment. You can see the devotion between the two, and that while the others all had little speeches as they pledged their loyalty to Arthur, all that was really needed between him and Merlin was a nod and a smile. Arthur knows that Merlin will always be watching his back. They know, and words aren’t really needed, so they fall back on humor.
5. How long have you been following couple #6?
Probably since the show started. It’s so rare to see a married couple in a television show to be so… stable, I guess. These two have a great married relationship, relying on and trusting one another all the way. And it’s great.
6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
*snort* Probably because the show was tanked and the fact that Elizabeth’s character was completely annihilated.
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?
Well, I love both of them, obviously, but in terms of entertainment value? I’d have to say Helen/John. These two are amazingly complex, a real mix of love that refuses to die and all-consuming hatred. It never fails to mesmerize.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Hm, I’d go for Abby/McGee. If I could erase the fact that they dated for, like, six months and the fact that McGee is still obsessed with her, I’d be so happy.
9. What interests you about #14?
I was intrigued by EJ and Tony because we haven’t seen Tony in a serious relationship since Jean Benoit in the fourth/beginning of the fifth season of NCIS, and this relationship had at least a small chance of working out, since it wasn’t based on a pack of lies due to Tony being undercover. They’re both NCIS agents, and thus both workaholics, so they’re both understanding of each other’s dedication to their jobs. It has potential, and potential for Anthony DiNozzo? Is huge.
10. When did you stop liking #7?
It’s not that I stopped liking them. On the contrary, I still adore the pairing. It’s just that I’m not really involved in the fandom anymore. I haven’t written a fic for the pairing, or indeed the show, in almost six months.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
Not really. The show’s been over and done for a couple of years and the attempts to continue the franchise did nothing to prolong my interest.
12. What's a song that reminds you of #3?
Oooh, Haunted, by Taylor Swift. It totally fits with Anne and Henry's story. Very cool.
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
I’d have to say Merlin/Arthur, Anne/Henry, and Helen/John.
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Abby/McGee, hands down, no contest.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
I’d say Sarah/Chuck and Elizabeth/Peter. The latter could give the former tips about married life and how to keep it together when you’re (former) government agents.
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
*chuckles* Oh yes, several times. There was that time in the very beginning, when Gwen gave Arthur her favor before a joust, and then the kiss Gwen planted on Arthur when he was under a love spell, and multiple other times.
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
BWAH! No. Helen and John having a happy ending is about as likely as aliens actually landing on Earth.
18. What would make you start shipping #14?
Well, I’d say that I already kind of ship them, but I guess it would mean having to see more of them together. They met only because of the Port to Port Killer, so if EJ is going to be sticking around in the new season, I’d like to see their relationship grow beyond what it is now.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6?
Hrm, probably Gwen/Arthur. Because they’re sweet and adorable and still trying to figure each other out.
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
*snorts* Wiped out. Never existed. The end. Let them be friends, but if I have to see McGee making eyes at Abby one more time, I may lose it.
