I like this, it has a rather mellow feel to it, like you can see Merlin sitting there and aging and everything growing around him.

Thanks! I rather got that feeling too, that time is passing, and yet Merlin seems oblivious to it. I think I was kind of inspired by the historical figure that Merlin is actually based on, with the whole 'sitting in the woods and looking utterly insane' thing.

Glad you liked it! :)

This is really lovely; so sad, but the ending is hopeful and lovely :)

That felt very sad to me. I know the picture has a feeling of melancholy about it and this fit it very well. Loved that Merlin wouldn't leave the place he'd last seen Arthur until Morgana gave him a new purpose. Well done.

*nods* That's kind of what came to mind when I saw the picture, a feeling of loneliness and sadness. So of course that begged the question why Merlin would be sad, and that immediately brought thoughts of Camlann and Arthur's departure to Avalon.

Thanks for reading! :)

Aww, poor Merlin! I'm glad that he decided to move on and found a sense of purpose (with Morgana's helpful prodding ;)) after Arthur's death. This was beautifully written. :)

Heh, yes. Of course, for Merlin, things almost always come back to Arthur one way or another, so it's hardly a shocker that Morgana was able to poke him into movement again by telling him that Arthur will need him to set the stage for his return.

Thank you! Glad you liked it! :)

adore how the original prediction of eternal mournful pining is replaced with hope and love.
