New interests

My mother and I have taken to watching NCIS these past few weeks, since it's nearly all USA shows these days. We'd wanted to watch it when it first started back in the day, but there was a quite a lot going on at the time, with Daddy, me being off at school, etc., so we never got the chance. But now, we figured what could it hurt?

Now we're both hooked. We both adore Abby, and I'm rather enjoying Gibbs, though the other characters are cool too. Ziva, Tony, and McGee could all probably do standup comedy together, the way they act.

So we decided to start getting the series on DVD, and last week I looked on Amazon and found a boxed set of seasons 1-6 at about $150. I didn't order it immediately because we wanted to compare prices (would it be better to get the boxed set, or just buy the seasons individually, and where, etc). After some looking around, we decided that we'd just go ahead and get the boxed set from Amazon and split the cost between us -- about $75 apiece. Only, when I got on to order it this morning, I found that the price had jumped to about $180. I was all, "Fuck. No.", so I called home and informed her of the price increase. Her reaction was pretty much the same.

I also pointed out to her that one of the other sellers on Amazon had better prices. Now, normally we don't care to use the other sellers option for fear of getting pirated or damaged copies. That, and the cheaper prices tend to be people who have just started out and have no or almost no ratings to their name. However, there was one seller who had over 10,000 ratings, and 99% of them positive within the last year. They were selling the boxed set for about $120. They noted that the set was factory sealed as well, so we decided to break said general rule and go with them. It ships from Illinois, so I'm hoping to see it at home by the end of the week.

Then we have a lot of watching to do. *cackles*

I also pre-ordered the final season of The Tudors, which I had been reminded to do when EW.com did a blurb on the series finale, which is set to air on Showtime on Sunday. From what they said, Henry's really fucking bug nuts in the final season. *snorts* Well, he never was a clear picture of sanity to begin with, was he? In the show or in history.
