Choose a letter of the alphabet and name a word (or you can make it a phrase if you like) that begins with that letter. Name a fandom (and character/pairing). It’s laughable, really. He was gone for all those years, has been gone since those last years in London, when the Five became Four and, ultimately, fell apart. He has been gone hunting the Cabal leaders, seeking revenge for destroying the daughter he never had a chance to know. It seems rather silly to miss him for having disappeared now when he’s really been gone for most of the last century.
He’s left again, blood on his hands, but this time he also left the knowledge that there is some explanation for his actions. Not an excuse, an explanation. All along, it wasn’t him, not entirely. Instead it was a parasite, feasting on the violent instincts that are part of every human being’s genetic make-up.
John has always had it in him to be a killer, and that… thing pushed and pushed, eroding his self-control until he snapped.
Helen closes her eyes, sees John glaring at her in those final moments, the war for control raging in his eyes.

They both have their nightmares. After everything they’ve endured in their lives, the deaths, the injuries, the possessions, they’d be freaks of nature if they didn’t have dreams that made them wake up screaming.
Neither of them would ever admit it, but it actually helps to talk about the nightmares to each other. In the darkness of their bedroom, Vala whispers things about Qetesh and Adria, while Daniel talks about Apophis, Sha’re, and the Priors. There is no evidence of their confessions in the morning light, allowing them to shrug the night off with the dawn.
They don’t talk about their other dreams, though. Daniel doesn’t talk about a galaxy at peace, of old friends hale and whole and alive again, of secrets swept away by the wind. Vala doesn’t talk about the freedom of the stars, of the wind and sea.
Those dreams are theirs. There is no need for words.

Merlin took no notice of his irate tone and sat down on the bed next to the animal. “It’s a cat,” he said, clearly delighted by the creature.
The prince shot an incredulous look at his lover. “You call a mountain lion cub a cat?” he all but shouted. The cub whined in response, seeming to glare in Arthur’s direction. He quickly glanced toward the table, where he had dropped his sword. It was likely too far away for him to reach it in time to defend himself and Merlin if the animal should attack.
“Of course,” Merlin said nonchalantly, reaching out to pet the cub. Arthur tensed, expecting the cub to lash out at him with teeth or claws to maim Merlin’s thin hand, and prepared to lunge. However, much to Arthur’s shock, the cat only settled beneath the stroking fingers and began to purr, of all things ( ... )
