Huh

Just finished watching Hide and Seek, and I remember why the early episodes of SGA kind of bothered me, at least in regards to Elizabeth. That early scene, where the gang is talking about setting up patrols with the Marines? Teyla volunteered her people to assist in guarding the place, and immediately Elizabeth was all, "Thanks, but we can find other ways for the Athosians to contribute." The way she said it sounded very condescending, like she's humoring them in their belief that they can help out or something, and it was really grating. Elizabeth Weir is supposed to be a diplomat, one of the best in her field, and she's treating these people like children? WTF? Thank goodness she got over that and became her ultra-awesome self, the one who negotiates with hostile people for nukes while tied up and blindfolded.

character: sga: elizabeth weir, tv: sga
