I had a seizure on Thanksgiving morning and was admitted to the hospital.
I'm home now and they didn't find anything serious. They performed a ECG and CT head scan. The ECG was abnormal but nothing serious. Head scan was fine; I still have gray matter between the ears :)
Anyway, from all the tests, they found that I had a low total protein along with low alkaline phosphatase levels due to not eating enough protein on Wednesday and having a migraine. Whatever the cause, I need to take better care of myself. I have been on a weight loss program but have not been consuming enough calories to sustain normal daily activities. So I have to tweak my diet and increase my protein intake.
As for the incident itself, I got dizzy getting a cup of coffee in the morning and, knowing the symptoms, I immediately went to the floor until the spinning sensation stopped. After I thought it stopped, I was making my way to the couch in my folks living room and I felt another dizzy spell coming on so I stopped and dropped to the dining room floor....and lost consciousness. Next thing I know I woke up and EMTs were surrounding me, along with a sheriff and my folks. I was very confused, dazed and drowsy. My blood pressure was 74/48 and my blood sugar was 90. They immediately loaded me into the ambulance and took me away...
I'm still recovering. I feel like I'm moving in slow motion and I'm very fatigued. The doctor told me to take it easy and have good meals, easy since it's a holiday. Thank god I don't work till Monday. I just wish I could have had an uneventful Thanksgiving for once; I guess not this year.
