I'd just like to say that the city of Ocean Springs has nothing on the back of Gulf Park Estates.. and any other beach for that matter. I nearly vomited when I returned to my neighborhood today. I guess today the shock was worn off... partially. It still doesn't seem real. All my neighbors I knew have nothing. We're all trying to leave notes on slabs of concrete left or send an email if we can. My neighbor's pot-bellied pig is running around the neighborhood alive. I have no idea how that happened.

The death toll is nowhere near what it's going to be. The number that died in Gulf Park Estates is incredible. Bodies were found around my house. There are rescue teams painting giant orange X's on the houses that are accounted for. There's going to be an unbelievable amount of people dead.

Rebuilding New Orleans doesn't even seem possible to me. Every house would be destroyed, whether standing or not, because of all the water. It would take forever just to bulldoze everything away. Disease will spread so quickly. People are dying on the streets constantly. I still can't believe it, bodies in my neighborhood.

A family spent the hours before the hurricane breaking into houses on my street. I'm sure they went to mine. Another family that lived a house down had their house destroyed and ran into their car and drove off, I doubt they're alive.

I get so mad when I see parts of Ocean Springs okay, and everything that was mine destroyed. My neighborhood, my house, my beach, East and Front Beach, Biloxi and Gulfport... everything that was mine was destroyed. Alas, Tato-Nut still stands.

The American Red Cross Disaster Relief truck drove by my house today and fed about 20 of us.
I can't believe I was one of those people in a line in front of those trucks.
I can't believe if my parents didn't come to Mobile they'd be dead.

Tomorrow will be unbearable. The smell is already undescribable. We found some items of ours today about 15 houses away from us. Seriously, we counted. Our huge wooden flowerbed landed 8 houses north of us at my friend's.
