before i start on our AI paper and totally forget about the wonderful SIN experience, i offer this short post to an amazing pre-birthday gift that God has given me.
i read today this very inspiring passage: The greatest of all sins is to lose hope. The laziest act is to stop dreaming. The greatest loss is to give up on faith. We have a God who promised to be with us always, to give if we ask, and to find him if we seek him. That is why Jesus says we have not only a God but a Father who gives GOOD things to those who ask him.
we weren't suppose to push through with the trip because of our usual financial problem (well, i guess it's everybody's problem except bill gates!) anyhow, our friend in singapore insisted, made a good itinerary on a tight budget and even offered her small place with other filipinos to house four guests. before we know it, it was march 12. i only slept for 3 hours since i have to be in the airport before 4. my flight was at 6 in the morning. my friend fetched me in the airport then we left my things before starting our trip. what's weird was our first stop was novena church. apparently, gi started to become a mother of perpetual help devotee too when she went to singapore. mary was i guess still haunting me even in a foreign place for she knew i would miss my saturday afternoon legion meeting. we went to little india, suntec city for the IT show where we met tin and allan, went to the airport to fetched vida, elka and ryan, dinner in esplanade with whole real group and ended at past 2 in the morning. the next day started with a mass in novena, NUS open house, super big bowl of noodles for lunch right outside the school, long walks in sentosa (luge, skyride and cable car of course), dinner in chinatown and ended day 2 with girl bonding while looking at our camera pictures. day 3 started late. i went to novena in the morning to buy mom images then went to orchard for window shopping, posing and eating, short stop at bugis for some pasalubong then home to get stuffs before going to the airport.
i realized that it's not place or the length of time that defines friendship. we were just lucky that we all have trip passes and ryan got a super cheap ticket. singapore did add spice to our adventure. it was indeed 3 days of fun with good friends. that's it. i really can't ask for more when it comes to that aspect of my life for God was good enough to give me these people who have been with me through thick and thin.
i remember the time when i was really down and confused. only words of stupidity was coming out of my mouth. they were super patient and very nice that they did not have to bang my head hard on the wall just to wake me up. it's nice to know that these are also the people that surrounded me in this adventure.
