Let's see: I have dripped my snack on my day planner (soy sauce cannot be cleaned from paper). I dropped yogurt on an important e-mail (that was cleaned). Plus, I had something on my shirt that I'm not sure where it came from - it's dry. I was able to pick it off.
It's not quite a typical Monday as I'm still half in dream. I dreamt of Captain Jack Sparrow's world last night. I was in this town in the Caribbean, hired by these group of prostitutes that feared for their lives. Some huge sugar cane rancher planned on marrying the madam, who was totally against the wedding, and the group begged me to help. A few of the ladies knew Captain Jack Sparrow had been through recently (yes, gasp with shock) and thought he could help. I had to find Sparrow.
First, I checked the dock. Every time I brought his name up - to the port master, to a fellow captain, to a dock workers, to some homeless man - I ended up in a fight. Frankly, I surprised myself at either a) my sword work, or b) my ability to cleverly run away.
But since no one claimed to have seen him in port, something about owning them money, I guessed that if he was still on the island, he would be anchored at the harbor near the other side of the island. I ran the trails through the undergrowth and made a few of my own - my shins were cut to shit! - before I found the beach with two large stone peaks at the mouth of the bay. The Pearl was anchored with two other ships - and there appeared to be a commotion.
I swam out to the Pearl to find Jack, Will and Norrington fighting over the ship. They were running poles fitted to the mast for the sails and swinging through the rigging. Norrington, seeing me as the only person on deck and with my jaw firmly planted on the floor, swung down and smiled, "Stories of my death were greatly exaggerated."
He looked scruffy but clean and still had on his uniform. Will looked as he did fresh off the Flying Dutchman, but that wasn't one of the other two ships in the bay. I kept yelling for Jack, but they just wouldn't stop.
Then, Hubby woke me up. I have never wanted to stay asleep more to see how a dream ends.
