Today's Walk

Aug 18, 2008 10:59

So, I'm back to walking at work. Yes, yes, I'm crazy to do this in the middle of summer, but I need to loose the weight. Plus, I walk early enough in the morning to avoid the heat - well, not really, but the bad, high, hot heat.

Today's walked started with watching two parachuters circling down to the small airport North of where I work. It was fun to watch them circle around and around. As I walked down the street, I saw five hawks or buzzards (big birds black against the sky, so I couldn't tell you which it was) circling around each other over another building of ours. Then, three, huge military helicopters flew South to North. They were low and loud - I could hear them over my music.

Next, I saw my first tailless squirrel. That's right, no tail. Yes, I was close enough to see it was a squirrel hanging off the side of the tree. And finally, some elderly lady was upset because I didn't know where a certain apartment complex was. Yes, I stopped and turned off my music to speak to her. I told her, no, I didn't know where it was. She gave me a nasty look before driving off.

What a weird, shitty day.
