So it's Thanksgiving this Thursday. I've always wondered what it would be like to celebrate Thanksgiving, and how it was actually celebrated. This year our flat is actually having an 'English Thanksgiving.' I've made really good friends with an American, and together with her boyfriend we are making Thanksgiving dinner for the rest of my flatmates and a small group of friends. Yesterday we went out and got all the ingredients and food we would need, and consquently I have six packs of turkey breasts residing in my fridge (it's a little ironic really considering I'm the ony vegetarian), oh and there's a pineapple and watermelon on top of my wardrobe, which her boyfriend has developed a strange attachment to. Anyway its going to be lots of fun, then we are off to watch hellsing at Anime Soc.
After we did all this shopping that took over two hours and three of us to lug back, on the bus, to campus we had dinner and watched some movies. First we watched Advents Children, which she'd never seen. We now swear poor Cloud is an emo, although he does cheer up towards the end (we went as far as to discuss whether he should have been called 'overcast' instead). Please rest assured we really do like Cloud, he's really very cute. Then we watched Blade Runner (The directors cut) and I only just got the last little bit at the end with the unicorn. I still maintain Roy Batty's last lines are the best I have ever heard.
Its going to be a busy week, I have an essay due in on Thursday about Roland Barthes Myth, and it is driving me crackers. Only another 900 or so words to go. *sigh*
