The 27th Precinct’s Christmas party was like any other. Laytner was drunk and groping my Ryo, JJ was fawning over Laytner and trying to push Ryo out of the nearest window. Drake was attempting to stop his girlfriend dumping him in front of the entire division and I was alone and contemplating hurting both of the idiots harassing Ryo.
I took a drink of the punch I brought to the event, it was quite fantastic.
“Yo, Old Badger, look out where you’re standing!” I looked to see the Chief right next to myself and Laytner shouting at Chief Smith.
“I thought we’d been over this already Laytner, unlike you I have no communicable diseases.” Laytner flipped me off and pointed up at the ceiling. Mistletoe...
Before I could actually form another word I felt lips crushing against my own. Did the Chief just…?!
“Hey, don’t want bad luck in love, eh Rose?” He told me as he pulled away.
