SM September 10th Challenge: Bery/Endymion

He stared at the woman in front of him, her red eyes glittering evilly at him. “What do you say, Prince?” she asked sultrily, her voice sliding smoothly deep into him. He shivered uncontrollably, refusing to answer her. He pulled his eyes away; it was at the same time hard and easy. Easy because he hated looking at her, hard because his body told him he was in horrible danger.

He felt the pinpricks of pain first as her nails scratched at his skin as she harshly grabbed his chin and forced her eyes back onto him. “Answer me, Endymion!”

His eyes narrowed at Beryl, his ego getting the best of him, “That’s King Endymion to you, slave!” His eyes darted towards the others around him, and he was dejected to find that the numbers had dwindled from the last time he had dared to look.

Beryl merely blinked in response, and sharp pain shot through him as a high scream pitched through the air.

“SERENITY!” ripped from his throat as he tried to scramble towards the girl lying feet away from him. She was so close- if only he could just reach her! “STOP IT!” He shouted hysterically as the scream continued unendingly. Tears fell from his eyes unknowingly as he reached and reached for her, but was unable to get close enough to touch her- to offer any comfort at all.

The scream stopped abruptly as Beryl laughed menacingly. “That’s just the beginning, dear Endymion. I can make her shriek in pure agony if I wish it- and I do wish it!” She raised a finger threateningly- but he didn’t let her finish her movement before he somehow launched himself at her. The bonds holding him back broke away as he did, as if they had been waiting for him to muster his strength to fight back. He tackled her, sending the both of them to the floor. His hands found the sickly throat as he took his place above her.

The red eyes stared furiously up at him, power brimming behind them. He could feel the magic working its way on him as he felt his blood start to freeze, his mind begin to numb. He fell lank before he could even squeeze the throat shut. He was thrown off of Beryl, falling to the ground as if he were a doll.

“For that, you can watch your whore die!” He was pulled straight, unrelenting hands of his closest friends holding him back from attacking Beryl again. Beryl rose to her feet, looking no worse for the wear. Her eyes turned away from him, as if banishing him from her mind- taking all chance of fixing this with it.

“Please stop,” he whispered brokenly as Beryl stepped towards Serenity, who lay shivering on the cold floor. He couldn’t take it- he wouldn’t watch Serenity die. “Just- I’ll do anything…please…”

He hated begging her, hated it more than he had known it was possible to hate.

But it was for Serenity…

He had already lost everything else he had- he couldn’t lose Serenity too.

Beryl turned to face him, a horrible smile on her face now. The red eyes now showed enjoyment, joy for finally hearing the words coming out of his mouth.

“Oh, you will,” she whispered sensually as she stepped closer to him. He resisted the urge to pull back the millimeters he was able to. Her hand rose, the inhumanely long nails trailing the cuts he had received in battle. “You’re mine, Endymion.”

It was for Serenity, he had to remember that.
