You know, I watched my F-list 'asplode over the last couple of days. Considering the whole 'strikethrough 07' business. And I'm sorry to be blunt. Wait. No, I'm really not.
But, I don't really care. It's a section of fandom I don't really care about. It's a section of fandom that has it's own websites away from LJ that are owned an operated by their own servers and not as a business. I don't care that much. Six Apart owns the servers. They run LJ. If you don't like it buy Movable Type and run your own server. They have full lee-way to do what they want on the server.
While it -is- a violation of free speech, and there is president of people winning. Do you really want to? And it's true the vigilantes can go after the 50 trillion girls in Japan who read Boy Love comics. But. Whatever. I don't really care.
You know why I write this though? Just imagine. If everyone who got up and arms about the whole thing, you know did something more constructive. Oh, I don't know... Raised money for the victims of Darfur, global literacy, water to regions that don't have it, etc etc. we'd make a difference. Instead, we're bitching about a very small slight to a small amount of people about free-speech violations.
How very East Coast Liberal of me.
