Patrick presented me with one of the hardest and most interesting faith questions I've.. ever had to answer. And I failed miserably in answering said question. I didn't know where to begin tackling the question, and so I'm going to keep praying and reading in hopes that God will help me find him an answer. The question is to Jesus' complete humanity and complete divinity. People tend to argue w/analogies, however... how do we find something analogous to divinity? If one of the primary aspects of being human is to "not be divine" i.e. a drastic separation from the divine... how can Jesus possibly be BOTH human and divine.
I'm not entirely positive how the Catholic Church deals with the question, reference pending.
My own faith tells me that the question can perhaps be better understood if rotated to the view that humans are made in the image and likeness of God, and here lies the real question: can the nature of the divine encompass humanity without compromise of this divinity? i.e. can Jesus really, being God, become completely human without losing any aspect of his divinity?
Thoughts pending.
Physio exam today.. have studied pretty hard for it, more studying in progress currently.
