I'm not sure how I feel about Camp Rock 2 anymore. I was REALLY excited whenever I first heard about it. How could I not be? More Jason! More Ella! More Caitlyn!
But then...
I heard about Dana. That was the first bump in the road. Why create a new character to be a love interest for Nate? Why not use a character they already had? But for a while that was my only complaint. And then last night I found out about something that just RUINS continuity. And it's frustrating.
Originally there was no evidence of Connect 3 being brothers. They talked like they met at camp, and neither Jason nor Nate claimed Brown as their uncle. They kept calling him Shane's uncle. The only reason anyone out there thought they were brothers was because the Jonas Brothers are brothers in real life.
Well, now if you go to Camp Rock 2's website they call Brown the uncle of all three of them, and there's a picture of the JoBros with the caption "a brotherly moment." I wouldn't find that caption weird if it was a behind the scenes sort of thing, but all of the photos on the website have captions that keep up the illusion of the characters. So, the writers for Camp Rock 2 just went ahead and officially made Connect 3 brothers (which is so unoriginal at this point that I just might scream).
So, now I'm really not as excited as I was. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not on the edge of my seat anymore.
The only things keeping me excited for it are:
1. Alyson Stoner is going to get to take advantage of her BEASTLY dance skills.
2. They've given Ella a goal and an ambition.
3. Jason's storyline looks adorable.
4. FRANKIE'S IN IT. :)
Oh and...I'm going to call the ending...here on my LJ. I don't know if it will be right, but I'm going to say how I think it will end.
Camp Rock and Camp Star will merge to become Camp Rockstar. (A totally cliche and lame ending, btw). I'm also predicting that Peggy won't be as involved this time. Her profile is surprisingly vague on the official website. Barron and Sander's profiles are sad as well. So, I'm guessing they'll have the same amount of screen time as they did in the last one.
Anyway, I really needed to vent about all of this. I'm kind of disappointed. I'm really hoping the movie is WAY better than I think it's going to be because right now I think it's not going to be as awesome as it could be.
