I find it hilarious that though I am completely distraught about not having a lot of close close friends, I find myself pushing as many people away as I want to keep nearby. quite heartbreaking, if you ask me.

though, obviously, in retrospect it is really my fault.

Well, anyways, on to something of more substance and entertainment. Costco is a source of many many things. One being is a heap of bargain-priced bestselling books. The latest book I have procured, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, is a verbal feast of circus lore and culture. It is amazing how powerful writing is. Gruen, who had not been to a circus before her research in order to write a book about one, is masterful on the subject and zeros in on every tiny detail of what life on a traveling train circus in the thirties would be like. Its also easy to say that this book is great when it began with a man being bludgeoned to death, has four sex scenes, 3 masturbation scenes, and is told by the flashback perspective of a ninety year old man.

WHEW. perfect reading for breaks during babysitting. perfect.

well, I guess that's all for now.
