I know why babies aren't able to remember their infanthood- Teething....is so traumatic who would want to remember it. W. has had a long hard day. I feel sorry for the little tyke. I'm exhausted from not getting much sleep and am just drained from trying to make him happy all day. It was a great Daddy's day though. We celebrated last night ( ( Read more... )

I **COMPLETELY** understand the divorce thing. My mom got remarried after only dating the step-dad for a couple of months. Talk about adjustment issues.

But it all comes down to asking myself whether or not she is happy and how he treats her (and, secondarily, my sister and me). He is very nice and my mom is very happy. So, I have no choice but to be accepting. I still have a hard time calling him family or considering him anything but a houseguest. But, as I have moved away and have lived my own life, so has my mom.

My parents divorced when I was 4, so I can't say I know how it feels to be an adult and witness a collapse of something that supported you for 20 years, but I can say I understand the family thing, but in the inverse. None of my family attempts to make contact unless they are contacted first, so I very rarely get to see any of my aunts or uncles. I haven't seen my father since my wedding, and my mom has dimensia and is slowly dying. She didn't recognize me for the first time the other day. I was heartbroken.

But, anyway, the world, with all the stuff mixed together, is, in fact, an awesomely beautiful place. I mean, compare life to art, as they imitate each other. You can't have a masterpiece without some browns and blacks in there, and sometimes they take up the entire canvas, but still manage to create something beautiful. It would be insanely difficult to create a beautiful piece of art without taking advantage of the full spectrum of color.

And, again, my analogies rock.

Love ya, stay sane, call me.
