Now THAT was a Torchwood Convention!
This weekend was the first Starfury Torchwood con (sadly named Miracle Day - I shall take this to mean it was a miracle that it happened, not that it relates to the series that does not exist). It was EPIC! Absolutely epic.
Highlights include:
I Have Never being played by Naoko, Gareth, Eve and Kai. 'I have never been touched by Barrowman inappropriately and liked it' All drink. 'I have never been in a dark corner with Barrowman and feared for my life' *laughs* All drink etc.
Gareth explaining all the things you can't ask Naoko about 'Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Female writers'
The 15 yr ol boy that was so sweet to Eve that she pulled him on stage for a hug
Gareth requesting (begging) people to tweet pics of his daughter winning the fancy dress because he forgot to take any (Eve's 'Bad Dad' comments)

Gareth and Naoko singing 'Layabout' (Naoko - I always remember my lines!)

The watch-along to Countrycide (Naoko - 'Where are my eyebrows?' Eve - 'Barrowman was hanging so badly at this point that he couldn't open his eyes')

That is just a tiny sample of the insanity of the weekend. I haven't laughed so much at a con ever. The guests all said that it was the bst con they had ever been to. Gareth and Kai made a point of saying how much better this con was than others. Gareth and Eve also made a point of saying that this was the first con they had ever felt was run well enough for them to bring their families, Eve also echoed James from Vampire Ball, saying that this was a con run for fans, not for commercial gain. And they will be back next year, hopefully with Burn (and possibly Barrowman, but I'd rather have Burn). As will I. Cos damn, I'm not missing out on that!
ETA: I cannot believe that I forgot about the exquisite piece of improv that was Kai as an MPreg Captain Jack giving birth to Gareth with Naoko as midwife. I wept at the beauty of it all!
