Another Year Older...
...and almost a lifetime older. It's amazing, all the things that can happen in a year. You look back on it, and wonder where the fuck time went. While you're wrapped up in your pursuit for greater things, the power of the paycheck, the strength of your career, the very taught tightrope that you walk between work and home, wondering if this is really what you want of your life, this job with a company that you hate and morally dispise but pays you well enough that you simply turn away..... life just simply passed you by. I look at my children and barely recognize them. I'm sure it's vice versa. So with this day of the year, that one that's supposed to be so special, it's time to start living for myself and my family. Not for the corporation that assumes control of my life. Another year old, a lifetime older, but another year, a lifetime wiser. That being said, happy birthday to me.
