Made it to Stonehaven and alas... could not find any place to take my bag for me, so I took a taxi to the ruins and, I don't know how, carried my laptop bag down the steps and up the steps into the castle where the lovely ladies in the gate house said I could leave it, and my main backpack with them. The ruins were stunning! Soooo romantic! The lovely ladies in the gate house called a taxi back to the station for me, the same guy. On the way back a nice gentleman from Germany carried my bag to the main path for me. Since I still had hours before my train ride up to Inverness I went to the restaurant in the hotel next to the station and had a very long lunch. You see I planned to find someplace to leave my luggage and then have a nice leisurely hike through town to Dunnottar Castle and back into town for a leisurely lunch. Well.... ah well.

Train ride up to Inverness was long, but GORGEOUS. It was a pretty full train though so I couldn't really run around and take pictures out the windows.

Got a bit lost trying to find the hostel. I misread the map in the Lonely Planet book. But a kind elderly couple stopped to help me and then the gentleman pulled my rolly bag up the rest of the hill and to the hostel. ^_^ And....

THE HOSTEL HAS A KITTY! A big fluffy calico.

I LOVE SCOTLAND!!!

Tomorrow: Isle of Skye coach tour!
