I'll get back to you with the day. I'm pooped.

HI~!

All right! Got to London Waterloo and didn't know which platform my train was on until about... five minutes before it was to leave. Fortunately I found a nice guy who'd worked at the station for decades who told me it usually left around this platform and to wait there until the board with the departures told me for real. Really nice train ride to Windsor. At one station I saw a pair of foxes in the bushes next to the tracks!

Windsor is a beautiful town! I really love English towns!

And the castle! OMG! Made the little girl princess in me that never really died VERY happy. And I loved my walk up to the castle in the early morning. It was cold and chilly and a bit rainy and misty, but there weren't many people about and it was lovely! Got my ticket to the castle and headed on in. I took 105 pictures! Some of which you can see in the link above.

Couldn't take pictures of the inside, but it was GORGEOUS. Turns out there were two Knights of the Garter with the last name of Blount. One in 1417 and one in the early 1500s. Both angered their monarchs though and were tossed out. Whoops! Mom says we may be related to the 1500s Blount, William, 4th Lord of Montjoy.

On the look for lunch I ran into a group of Japanese high school girls on trip from Kyushu, and I stopped and talked with them in Japanese. It felt good. ^_^ Found a very nice Chinese restaurant for lunch. It had a lunch special that was a three course meal with Chinese tea for GBP6. Very delicious.

Decided to leave the now heavily touristy area around the castle and headed across the bridge into Eton. Just strolled the streets and took pictures and enjoyed all the picturesque scenery. Found Eton college, but it was complicated to get a tour, also it was almost past time, and it was mostly under restoration so.... save some money! Then wandered back to the train and back to London.

At the hostel there were some guys around outside and in the lobby dressed up in cheap animal costumes. I got my brick (lappy) and went to the lobby and being the only woman in the room under the age of 35 and not staff, guess who they zeroed in on.........

Drunk and reeking of cigarettes they told me it was a stag party and they were going to a roller disco soon and would I like to come? Politely turned them down and congratulated the young man to be married. They left soon after for their night of debauchery and I did what I needed online before heading to bed.

Day Six: Winchester Cathedral and Great Hall! Great Hall is free!
