why hello, journal-o...
as some of you know, my student teaching experience is now well underway.
you may also know that my co-op told me (on my first day, mind you) that he has had notoriously bad student teachers from Augie, which put me into a justifiable panic. how can I impress this guy? what do I need to do to get a recommendation from him? etc, etc...
and, naturally, I was in a panic when he told me to plan a 45-min 7th grade band lesson involving revisiting the "basics" of marching. after explaining my assignment, he told me that, if I did a good job, he would give me the 8th grade too.
so, away I planned.
today was the day of the lesson, and...
I F***ING ROCKED THAT LESSON!!
the whole rest of the day, he was talking about how cool my drills were! and how he wanted to use them on his kids after I left! and then he gave me his classes on Thursday, too!!
I could NOT be happier right now.
then I bombed an oboe demonstration, but you know, these things happen. I still rocked the shit right out of that lesson today.
