First thing's first - I posted my 50th WC fic this week. It was, appropriately, for Caffrey-Burke Day; the relationship between Neal and Peter has always been one of the biggest draws of this show for me. Also, I never thought I'd write five stories much less fifty - I was not nearly as prolific in previous fandoms - so this is kind of amazing to me. I want to thank everyone who's taken the time to read and review and cheerlead and prompt and request follow-ups and everything. I appreciate and love you all!
Next up -
This was a fun episode. Neal was especially playful with Mozzie, which was interesting... and odd.
Diana was awesome! I now love exhausted!annoyed!Diana. I do question the timeline of her pregnancy, but I regularly question how time moves in WC-land, so yeah. Not dwelling. Also, the scene where Diana tries to talk Neal into going to the crime scene with her was a lot of fun - the teasing between them - loved it!
Mozzie as (expert!)(screaming!) mid-wife was maybe the best thing ever.
I don't really have a handle on Neal's new handler. I wanted to like him, but I find him so smarmy that I just don't know that I can. Also, his accent grates on me. (Side note: I went on a YouTube hunt to see if that's his actual accent, and I was pleased to find that it's not. Also,
this interview from Attack of the Show is great! So, now I like Warren Kole but still don't have a handle on David Siegel.)
I also really liked Jones standing up for Diana with Peter. Jones and Diana clearly got even closer while Peter was away, and I hope we get to see more of them now. At least more Jones, please!
Mozzie's explanation of Teddy Winters broke my heart. I'm trying to figure out how to work it into the Stand By Me 'verse, but I've been using Mozzie Jeffries as his name there, so I haven't quite figured out how to make it work.
And for the cuteness factor - Neal saying "Night Mom" and Peter saying "Good night Momma" to Diana in the hospital just melted my heart.
Nerdy things:
Emil Berliner was the creator of the phonograph.
The Roanoke Praxis refers to the
lost colony of Roanoke Island.
In other news, I can't log in remotely to work yet today (network issues at the office), so I'm re-watching last night's episode and polishing the next Bookstore AU story. :D
