ok, so after much difficulty I finally got my money back from Dell theoretically. Now technically I hate to say this but they may have been able to fix the problem, BUT they STILL were going to force me to lose everything and I just can't do that. So ok, the Geek Squad to my rescue, they seem to have everything under control and of course I once ( Read more... )

Question for you....theoretically my comp is fixed and i'm pickign it up tonight. They're telling me that because dell screwed me and didn't give me an operating system disc, it said to get it off the computer but those guys said that didnt happen so they used a disc on hand. So first of all I feel like I may not even get my computer back into the shape it was in when it was purchased. money down the drain??? I'm hoping that the rest of the driver discs or whatever that they said i have to do myself will put everything back. I feel so ripped off by Dell. Ok real question, the geek squad said that my broadband card was connected to my motherboard, aka dell's way of being cheap so I can't fix it. Therefore I can't ever upgrade from dial-up unless i have my modem removed. i'm not having them do it at this time. Is it worth it to complain to Dell to cover it in the warranty and replace the goddamn motherboard in case I want to upgrade? wont they just be replacing it with the same damn thing in which case it could die all over again? and I wasnt even usign it yet??? this nightmare never ends. opinion please? I'm sorry I keep bothering you, i'm just so frustrated and upset over the whole situation and now Derek feels like he tried to buy me a good machine but ended up getting me a piece of crap exept it cost him over 1000 bucks so it's like what the hell?? sigh
