(no subject)
I have ideas for things I want to make, and no-one to talk to about them.
I bet you know what's coming.
The List Of Things I Want To Make Reasonably Soon (Once I Have The Money For Materials Etc.):
1) Top for the SuperGay parade (AKA Middlesbrough's Pride parade).
To be completed: by September
Excitement level: dancing on the ceiling
Details:
Basically, this is just going to be a back vest top with rainbow stripe straps, as well as rainbow stripes across the neckline (which will be straight) and a rainbow striped ribbon at the waist (which will tie at the back). Would probably be worn with jeans or a shorts+leggings combo, depending on the weather/my confidence levels/etc.
2) Over-legging nets.
To be completed: ?
Excitement level: bouncy
Details: Okay, so I have this black dress that I've never worn outside of the house due to lack of tights/leggings, because I can only find them in my size if they're either really dark or too expensive. Then I found this metallic net-like material (like fishnet stockings, the ones with the smaller holes), and realised that if I wore some of that over some black leggings, it would look fantastic (and if I use the silver net material, they would match my shoes). Originally, this was my idea for the Supergay parade, but then I found the ribbon I'd need for the abovementioned top.
3) Winter hat.
To be completed: before it starts snowing
Excitement level: through the roof
Details: Despite the fact that I could just wear an everyday winter hat this winter, I found a pattern for a hat that I'd want to wear. I can't say much more than that, because if I get this one right, I'll pretty much be okay to move onto the (tangentially related) Secret Project.
4) Secret Project.
To be completed: start after the winter hat, finish whenever
Excitement level: to infinity and beyond!
Details: Sorry, it's a secret.
5) Summer hat.
To be completed: ASAP
Excitement level: less than zero
Details: I currently have no ideas for this. I should really make one because my big head needs one, but with how sunny it's been lately I might be better off just getting a baseball cap, leaving it open at the back and hoping that it's not still too tight.
What makes all these things slightly more difficult is the fact that I don't own a sewing machine. What makes all these things infinitely more difficult is the fact that my hand sewing sucks like a sucky thing. Yeah, I'm planning on making all these things knowing that there is a very good chance that I will fail in the most spectacular manner known to humankind. Won't that be fun?
