toilets

Note: i wrote another entry last night that was lost.  i have it in an email and we'll try to add it later.

Here in Ireland restrooms are called toilets.  Tara and i do not like saying that though so i've got us asking for the WC (water closet).  they are in general clean but very small.  they are also not always differentiated by men and women.  they're separate stalls but one room for everyone.  however, unlike in italy, they all have seats.  i'll never forget being in the restroom (wc!) in the vatican and not having a toilet seat.  ridiculous!

speaking of italians... i have met many italians here.  i have gotten to use a lot of my language skills and i am surprised at how much i remember.  i have met one italian boy, daniello, who is from sicily.  he is, in typical italian fashion, beautiful, sexy without effort, and very fashionably dressed.  of course, the second time i ran into him i was in pajamas.  not good.

today tara and i went to the guinness brewery where they make the good black stuff.  tara and i each had glasses of it and toured their seven story factory.  before that we went to st. stephen's church.  it was not as impressive as christ church cathedral but still a very special place.  now we are resting, reading, and getting ready for what will hopefully be a great night on the town in the temple bar area.  however, it is raining and freezing now.

i miss everyone at home but not in a very tangible way.  i don't want to leave here but rather wish everyone was here with me.  i felt that way in italy last year.  speaking italian has created a homesickness in me for the place.  maybe next summer i can get a work visa and spend a few months working with the tourist industry in rome or florence.

cheers everyone!
