Wow. It's been a while since I updated. ^^; In my defense, life has been busy. Chinese kicks my ass on a regular basis. And I've actually managed to develop something of a social life. If you consider sitting around and playing Munchkin, Dungeons and Dragons, or World of Warcraft to constitute a social life. We do occasionally go out and do things. Like tonight. We're heading out to see Alice in Wonderland and grab dinner. Once it warms up we'll be going out more. Winters in Monterey are rainy, so we've been stuck inside a lot.
I'm the only girl in my group of friends, but it's okay. We're all dorks. It's fun. I've even managed to get a boyfriend. *gasps of shock and disbelief ensue* Shocking, I know. He's younger than me (he'll be 20 this June) ^^; But he's sweet and silly and goofy and just as weird as I am. And I really like him.
I got a new laptop when I was home for Christmas. It's huge and I love it. Other than that though, my life is pretty uneventful. Muster in the mornings, class til 4, evenings are my time (though they're usually dedicated to homework or hanging out with Spencer and our friends). It's easy to forget I'm in the military sometimes (except, y'know for the fact that I have to be in uniform during the work day).
Chinese is interesting but fucking hard. I have a Chinese name though! It's 高爱玲 (gao ai ling). The course is intense and fast paced and I'm struggling to keep up. I don't want to be rolled back to a newer class, but I'll take that to being rocked out of my language altogether if it comes down to it. I'm hoping it doesn't.
I love it here, I just wish I didn't have the stress of class to deal with. We've got our unit 6 test on Monday and Tuesday. It's one of the hardest ones and I can't fail it. So I'm kinda worried, but trying not to stress too much.
But that's about it really. 我的生活很没有意思!(Wo de shenghuo hen mei you yisi = My life is really boring).
