Hurricane
Hurricane Charley (yes, that is the proper spelling) is heading our way. Cas and I may not have power starting early friday. We may even be evacuated, depending on stuff (I'm far more likely than her). Right now its just a category 2 (the highest is 5, which was Hurricane Andrew back in 92) so the storm surge (amount of water pushed before the hurricane) should be between 5 and 12 feet. That means that most of the beach will be covered, and that we get a day off of school. Unfortunately, that also means that I'll have to stay on a day before Thanksgiving.
The most frightening thing about this storm is the where its heading to land. Its coming up on the south gulf side, and looking to be following the same track as Donna (the last major hurricane my county really got hit with, back in 64). She caused millions of dollars in damage. Most of that was the storm surge. Now, don't ya'll worry, Mel, Cas and I should be fine, right girls?
