So, I'm not going to Graduate School in the Spring. I'm going in the Fall. Why? Because of a new job.
I was trying to find a new job because I needed a full time job, and it didn't seem like I was going to be getting that with Bloom. So I started looking around, and I caught the attention of a temp to hire company. What they do is find me job placements with a company. Sometimes a company only needs a spot to be filled temporarily. Othertimes, they want to...try out I guess, a person for a position. Sort of like a test run. Once you've worked with one company for a certain amount of time, you can become their permenant employee.
Right now, I'm working as an administrative Assistant to a company called reliatech, LLC. They're an Engineering Consulting Company that's big in Virginia. They do a lot of work for the government. They're a branch off Truland Systems, which is even bigger. reliatech has worked on buildings in Iraq, even the Courthouse in Richmond. They're actually a small company. I love my job though. I even love my hour and twenty minute commute in the mornings. I know Administrative Assistant is a fancy title for secretary, but it's more than that. When I told Steve, he made a joke about how I would be getting them coffee. IT's not even like that. I actually haven't even done anything like that. When I first started, they had me working on reformatting resumes. When they submit a proposal, they include the resumes of the people that will be doing the job. Instead of having everyone's be a different format, they have one format for everyone. So that's what I did. You'd be surprised at the formatting of some of them.
Right now, I'm assisting with a proposal, helping them get together the things they need for it. The Senior Project Manager, Bill, told me Friday that he thinks I'm doing a great job, and that he hopes I stick around for long time. That made me both happy and sad.
Sad because I know I'll be leaving in the summer. After two days of working there, I told Steve that I was thinking about waiting until Fall. I'm making really good money at my job right now, and if I stayed longer, I'll be able to find a job like it in Missouri. Plus, I would only have a lil more than a month to save up for the move, which wouldn't have been enough time. Steve thought about it and agreed that it would be best.
I'm so happy that things are working out. Steve and I are doing great. This whole issue with his parents has certainly drawn us closer. I'm so utterly excited to be starting a new chapter with him soon. In a few months, we'll be celebrating our two year anniversary. It feels much longer than that. I can't wait to get to know a new chapter of SAI's and PMA's, and to be a part of Steve's family.
