i've been searching for the right time to write in this blog, but it's become increasingly difficult with the rapid turnover of thoughts that flow through my mind on a daily basis. i find myself shifting from one topic to the next, exhausting all my mental power until there is nothing left to analyze.

my friend luke once told me that life is a series of phases, some being great ones, others being metaphorically described as hell on earth. i think right now i'm stuck in a phase that i call 'limbo', a transition period in which i am learning all sorts of interesting things about myself and how i interact with others - a phase whose time period seems longer than it should be. i think there was a point not too long ago when i thought i had it all figured out, when school seemed like a means to an end and that end was finding a job, getting married, settling down and living happily ever after. but now as i reach my mid 20s and the end of my academic life drawns near i can't help but wonder where exactly life will take me.

on a lighter note, room renovations are pretty much complete. my new bed is awesome and i didn't really have to buy any new furniture. i grabbed my brother's old shelf and filled with all my books, found the dresser i had used while living away in hamilton, and recycled an old desk that was collecting dust in the basement. i'll probably upload a few pics of the room once the final touches are added (photos, decor etc).
also, my recent interest in electronic music has quickly escalated into an obsession. some nights i spend a good 2-3 hours researching dj's, scanning youtube for new and old albums and singles, reading up on events and clubs both here and in europe. some moments i'm just sitting on my bed or desk, headphones on, and tuning the fuck out while listening to a heavy bass or ambient tune. to be honest it all started with a guy i had been recently interested in who seemed to really enjoy electronic music, and so i started checking it out... and then one day i realized i could listen to this genre for hours and started doing some research on what was out there. electronic music is calculated, meticulous, and mind-tripping. it can overlap with other styles of music as well, adding to its versatility. i've only been to one live electronic event and truthfully i was way too wasted to remember, let alone enjoy, the music LOL.. so i'll need to give the live thing another chance.

i'm debating as to whether or not i should delve into my love/friendship life. will probably save that for another post. in the meantime here are some cool tracks that might tickle your fancy:
