Guess who hasn't updated her journal in a while...

Yep. That'd be me. Again. I really do need to get better about this...

Well, life's been good for the most part. I'm thoroughly enjoying my classes this semester, and I *finally* got the book I needed for my Victorian poetry class today. It only cost me about $40. Also, I'm officially an English/Journalism double-major now, but I'm seriously considering dropping the Journalism part. It just doesn't interest me as much as English does. I don't want to teach, but I've been thinking that I could go into publishing and editing. I might enjoy that. I think I'd certainly enjoy it more than working for a newspaper or magazine or something. I just don't think journalism's in me. I'd rather live a quieter life being a writer.

I have a mentor now, too. It's part of the English department here. You have to have both a mentor and an advisor, and you have to be mentored before you can be advised. And my mentor is quite possibly the coolest man on this planet. I had him for my pre-1700 British lit class last semester. His name is Dr. Evans, and he's a Tolkien fanatic. Which is automatically in his favor. He's also an incredible Christian man, and last semester, we had a few talks in his office about spiritual things. He's so cool. For the past few weeks, I've been trying to get together with him to have my mentoring appointment, but things haven't been working out. I think my UGA e-mail account may be on the fritz or something. I don't know.

I've been going to Prince Avenue Baptist Church here, and it's been awesome. I got into a D-group, or discipleship group for those of you who know what that is, or a small group Bible study for those of you unfamiliar with either term. It's great. We're doing the MacArthur study of the book of John. On Sunday mornings for the college Bible study, we've started a series on Song of Solomon. Which, if you know your books of the Bible, you can guess centers on relationships, more specifically, relationships with the opposite sex. We're using a video series by this guy who is apparently a leading authority on Song of Solomon, and he's great.

That's about all I have time for now. Once again, just wanted to let everybody know who still bothers to read this know that I'm indeed alive.
