[Maka had spent the weeks since 'his' return to Mayfield working on how to spread the information given to him by Wriggle when Grady had assaulted the town searching for Sergei. Having only one copy of the information was risky--after all, all it would take is an accident or a discovery by someone unwanted and it would be gone forever--and telling others verbally posed its own problems: over the phone, drones or Grady could listen in; doing it in person would be too difficult in a group and too tedious if done over and over one-on-one.
So, to solve this problem, Maka had spent these weeks making copies of the information given to him. He spent all of last night--starting at midnight and going into the early morning--stuffing every mailbox (save for the Smiths') with a copy of THIS.
She then skipped school the next day to sleep, something she would never consider doing with Shibusen. This has caused Maka to also miss the phone call made by a certain new arrival he would be ever so happy to hear from. When he does eventually wake up, he makes a phone call:]
Please check your mail today, everyone.
