So yeah, Matt and I are still together, of course. I think it just took us really blowing up at eachother to care enough to sit down and figure out what's really going on. We're both just really stressed out living here. Portland is awesome, if you're not a student. It's been hard to make ends meet and still have money to spend on our hobbies and schooling. We'll make it through though.
Still planning to move to Idaho next year. I'm still on track to graduate in June next year. Good stuff. I'm just super busy which kinda sucks sometimes. But I still try to make time to have fun. I love having the pool right out back, I go swimming at least three days a week. I've been exersizing not as consistantly, but swimming burns a lot of calories. I've lost 6 pounds since I started trying to lose weight about a month ago. I haven't changed too much in my diet, just smaller portions. I'm no longer over 170, thank god. I carry my weight well, but I'd like to just be in shape for once! I've been feeling a lot healthier. I went from 174 to 168... and I'm still losing a little every day. I don't think I'll reach my 140 goal by the end of August (haha, never gonna happen), but by the time we move to Idaho next year I should be thinner than I ever have been and in way better shape too!
Oh and my hair is getting longer too. It's barely to my shoulders and very healthy and my natural color. I'm going for the long term goal of a complete makeover... to go with my new BA degree :)
What else? Oh yeah, we're probably gonna buy a house the second year in Idaho if we decide we'll be staying there for a while. I mean shit, for a one-story, three bedroom with a garage, we're talking like 450-650 a month to own a damn house. That's the same price or cheaper than renting a house. Why the hell not then, huh? I am so ready to settle down and have a real job and enjoy my damn weekends without homework.
I just found out that if I get a graduate assistant position (probably my second year there), not only will I get $9500 for teaching one class for two semesters, but I also would have a good possibility of getting my tuition fully waived. How awesome is that? It would be nice to be only 30g in debt to my school instead of 50g. No that it matters because at the very least I will make a minimum of 10g a year over the most I could make now and I will have a job that I actually like for a change. Plus, when I do eventually end up teaching at a university I'll be making at least 45g a year, and that's in Idaho. It may not seem like a lot, but remember, everything's cheap. We'll end up living there forever, I know it. It's the only place we can afford to live and execute our life dreams. Building a race track (land is cheap), building go-carts, owning my own building for art studios (you can rent prime space for a business at about 300 a month... on the main road). Yeah, so when I put it like that, 45g sure goes a long way, doesn't it?
I'm just excited. Stressed out with my 20 credits a term, but very excited. Just got my grade for Spanish. 6 credits at a 4.0 - oh yeah. I'm currently holding a 3.8 overall, including all my upper division coursework. I rock.
