“Fearlessness may be a gift but perhaps more precious is the courage acquired through endeavour, courage that comes from cultivating the habit of refusing to let fear dictate one’s actions.” - Aung San Suu Kyi

I’ve been doing a fair bit of Stumbling lately. StumbleUpon is a site that generates random websites at the click of a button, but these websites vary depending on your interests. It’s a great way to waste time. All you have to do is install a toolbar on your browser, register at the site, choose your interests, and then click the ‘Stumble’ button to begin! It’s simple. I’ve found some really cool sites this way. I thought I’d post some of them here.

SketchSwap is pretty much what the name says it is. You’re given a blank space to draw whatever your heart desires, but you must draw with a little caution because there is no erase button. Once you’ve completed your drawing, simply submit your drawing and get one in return. I’ve gotten some fantastic sketches in return. It’s amazing the things people come up with. I feel a little bad for the people who get my sketches though.
This site is great for all artists, and those of you lucky enough to have a tablet PC.

Is this a giraffe? Well technically yes, but it’s merely a painting of a giraffe on someone’s hand! I found some amazing hand art online. Guido Daniele has painted some incredible designs on people’s hands. I loved looking at the details of all his creations. It was almost impossible to tell, in some pictures, that these were merely hand paintings, because their resemblance to the actual animal is astonishing. Take a look at the site to see some other hand paintings he has done.

This last one is just for Aussies, so I apologise to all you non-Aussies. Staedtler has given us the opportunity to send little notes to our friends, strangers, and even ourselves with their Take Note site. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but it seems like a really neat idea. I loved this, because normally when I find something this cool, it’s never available for Australia. While you’re at the site, be sure to check out their ‘Note Gallery’. There’s some funny stuff there. You can also sign up to receive a note from a stranger.

In other news, I’ve started watching anime again. Thanks to a suggestion from Shawnna, I’ve started watching Ouran High School Host Club. It’s about a girl, Haruhi, who enters a prestigious school on a scholarship. While wandering around for an empty classroom, she finds the Ouran Host Club, a group of boys who entertain the school’s girls for profits. However, her tom-boyish appearance has the Host Club mistaking her for a boy. While there, she accidentally knocks over an overpriced vase and is forced to pay for it by working as a fellow host. Her adventures in the Host Club are hilarious, and the stories that surface are all great.

I’ve been listening to a few of Avril Lavigne’s songs lately. I really like the lyrics in most of her songs. My favourites lately are Nobody’s Home, Take Me Away, and Why. I also have her newest song, Girlfriend, stuck in my head for some reason. I didn’t like it when I first heard it, but I think it’s grown on me.

Oh I have one final thing to mention before I close this entry. I found an article on The Sydney Morning Herald site about a boy who dupes YouTube into deleting videos. The article states that he used a Hotmail address to contact YouTube, so I have no idea how he managed to pull it off. I guess it’s quite funny when you think about it, but I’ve recently started watching The Chaser’s War on Everything and would’ve loved to have seen some of the older episodes.
