Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is thanksgiving and right before we left for thanksgiving lunch it started to snow. I've experienced snow before as a child but the sight of falling white crystals is still magical. <3 What a great way to start the day. And since today put me in such a good mood, I feel like I should count my blessings. haha
I am thankful for:
...the gift of travel. I love learning from books and from school but I truly believe that travel is the best learning experience. I've been blessed enough to have traveled as much as I have and it has definitely made me grow as a person in so many dimensions. Thank you to my family for opening up the world to me.
...a Filipino thanksgiving lunch with Kuya RJ's family. We had chicken and salmon which was not at all a traditional thanksgiving meal but it was good to be with family.
...an American thanksgiving dinner with the Finleys. We had turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. And everybody had blue eyes. Parang movie lang. Hahaha. I'm glad that despite their white-ness they were still very relatable. They are such a wonderful family and so obviously educated and well-read.
...being surrounded by wonderful people not only for this stay but in life. I am thankful that I was placed in an environment with well-rounded, level-headed, reasonable and intelligent people. We all have our issues with ourselves and with each other but I am grateful that in general the people around me build me up and help me grow as a person. I am grateful for the good influences in my life.
...my life. Let me live up to the potential that is within me.
