we just had a chant off at my 'all partner welcome' night.ours was to 'my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...' but all changed to front desk talk.that,my friends,basically sums up my new job in so many words.ha.
in the mariot hotel.pretty freeeagin' nice there to say the least.
i can feel like yet again,im ganna get really into it.it reminds me so much of dave and busters,and goddamn,i loved it there.but its so hesterical how the work groups are SO sterotypical.theres over 100 waitstaff,and theyre all a mesh of everyone really,and quuuuuite good looking males.im alittle upset i dont have good experiance in waitressing because you NEED experiance in this place.no one hired didnt have it,and ALOT of it in whatever they work in.but i plan to move up to waitressing in the comp. fo shooooo.they said its easy to cross train later on.i know i only got it REALLY because of dave and busters.and im like an opening whoreass.(panera,starbucks in bayport,and d&b's.)bartenders,only NINE,are all loud mouths and bouncy.kitchen,alot barely speck english.(not saying that badly.)bakery are alot of...uglies.not even kidding.and then i walk over to my group...and almost fell over laughing.its all GORGEOUS girls(with vacent expressions on their faces,looks like about 6 brain cells.).which,i feel like i dont always mesh too fantabulous with.and two gay guys.nooooo boys in my department,which is quite upseting.but im hoping to have more interaction with the waitstaff then when i did at d&b's,because there i never left the desk.i didnt actually seat people,that was a seperate thaang.but the girls do seem nice.
so it was just a whole pep rally type insanity.where they throw shirts and keyrings at you.and you have to clap and go crazy every 20 secs.i knew it was going to be like a sorority house with everyone on speed.knew it.dude,im just pumped to hell that i get to wear a little microphone and stand all hotshity at a computer.and the whole place,is MARBLE.(we cant even see a cup put down without a napkin underneath it.)the woods fucking over 5 million dollars apparently.its freagin' crazy.242 things on the menu,NOT counting desserts.i cant even begin to discribe how many people are being planned to come to this place.they said lines AROUND THE BUILDING when one opens.im even,alittle scared.i dealt with alot at d&b's,but all they do is talk about how much shit we get and how much we just need to smile.smile.smile.and say all these things over and over.and apparently always,'im so sorry...'.that were going to have buzzers thrown at us,and how theyll always protect us.that we get threatened alot,and bribed.and that really,were the first and last face they see,and the guest take it all out on us.EXP. with the time waits.we get an update every few mins. over the computer to accuratly say it alwaaaays.(were normally always between an hour and sometimes up to 3 hour waits apparently.)its nuts.ahaaa.

AND i found out that theyre building a bloomingdales and a nordstrom(myyyy faaaaav)in the mall,california pizza kitchen,opening the upstairs,and were not 'actually' connected to the mall?i go in the actual resturant sat. night to start class',but from what i hear theyres a courtyard connected to us where theyre putting ALL new stores.and that theyre making smithaven BIGGER THEN ROOSEVELT feild,like now.whhhhhat.
