I'm not sure how I feel about this...

This was in the Weekly Reader that Julian brought home today - they spent most of the day watching the inauguration in the library:

Barack Obama
Written by Dina Anastasio

The voting was over, the hour was late,
On that nght in November, 2008.
The whole world was watching and waiting to see
Who America's next new president would be.

The debates and the speeches were finally done.
The people had spoken.  Barack Obama had won.
The 44th president had opened a door.
No African-American had been elected before.

When Barack was a boy, basketball was his game.
He still loves to shoot hoops.
Some things stay the same.
Growing up in Hawaii, he studied and read.
So many questions swirling round in his head.

An African father, his mother was white.
Sometimes confusing.  Sometimes just right.
But somehow he knew.  The answers were there.
Bring people together to work and to share.
