We're having a....
I am having some troubles to install the dang scanner because well we don't have the damn install CD for it, and we can't find an install thingy online that would work on the desktop computer... on which we are using....windows 2003 ! I had to wait until Brian was done formatting my laptop so I could try and install it on there as we could find a file for windows 98.... after many other things to do to get the internet working on the laptop (installation of the network card).... I finally got to download that file.... but then it told me I needed Winzip... so I go and get winzip... then I try to install the darn file... and what does it tell me ? Insert disk #2. Yeah right, what disk 2 ?? I don't have no stupid disk 2 since I got the file from the darn internet and it was all in one file !
So I kinda give up on trying to do it by myself, Brian will help me and do that tonight. So you'll have to wait for the pictures a little while longer, I am afraid. I will try and add a picture of the pictures.... but it won't show very well... gggrrr !
Anyway, here is how it went !
We left at 11.05 am and got there at 11.22 am. We walked to the place where I was told to go and signed the sign in sheet, then went and sat down. A few minutes later a lady called my name. We went and followed her, and I was told to sit on the exam table, so I did just that. Then she said to lower my pants a little, down to the hips, so I did ! And then I was asked to lay down, she squirted some freezing cold jelly on my tummy, that made me shiver hehe and then she proceeded to move the little thingie around. I couldn't see the screen at that time. Then after a little bit, she turned it and showed us some stuffs. It was so darn amazing to see our little bundle of joy, even though at first we couldn't quite figure out what we were looking at. She explained what we could see, and then it made sense.
We got to see a little head, little legs and little arms, as well as little hands and feet. The baby at first made us laugh, because the arm was in front of the face... like to say "no ! no picture !" lol.
Then we were asked if we'd like to know what it is... and of course we said yes ! So she looked and said "it's a .... girl !" and she explained how she could tell, how for a little girl there are 3 lines where the female parts are, and how for a boy you don't see 3 lines. It was cool !
Then when she was done doing all the pictures, she said "now we need to do blood work"... my heart sank ! I looked at her and went "that must be a joke !" and she then said "nope, we need to do the screening for the triple test", to which I said "but the nurse checked last time that they would do it with the blood they had drawn already, and they said they would", and I told her that there was no way I would get blood drawn this time, as I still have the bruises. I showed her my arms and she was like "woaaaaah that's huge!!" and then she double checked and the file said that it would be done on the blood they had already. Phew *wipes sweat from forehead*.
She said I measure 18 weeks... so I am 2 weeks behind what I thought, so that brings our due date to April 21st. But we'll have to see if the doctor wants to change the due date or not, because it could just be the baby not growing as fast. But we are happy that we're having a little girlie, that looks healthy.
She was moving around a bunch, it was amazing to see. And now we have a few pictures to keep. We even got to watch her "breathe". It sure makes it even more real now that we have seen our little bundle of joy. I loved every minute of it ! I can't stop looking at those pictures, it just amazes me to no end that this little person is inside of me.
She was a very nice lady, and very friendly. She asked me where I was from and how we met and all, she was amazed at our story.
We left the building happy and relieved.
I called Brian's mom when we were in the car on the way home, and I thought of telling her "it's a boy" just to see her reaction... but then I decided against it. She was so happy she yelled in the phone ! I could tell she was excited. I knew she would be.
So we are having a little Ashley. We haven't decided on the second name yet for sure, we had thought of Marie... but Brian seems to not be too thrilled with it now for some reason. So we'll see, I guess. At least we have a first name for sure !
