Okay, sooooo.....since most all my friends are married, I've gotten some pretty good ideas on wedding planning throughout the last few years, especially with my friend Megan who got married most recently, last summer.  And the last few months I've been obsessed with looking at wedding stuff online and pretty much had everything planned out in my head.  Now that I'm engaged and actually planning, I've realized that I have NOTHING READY!!!  ACK!!  I'm running around with my head cut off and getting stomach/headaches everyday already!  Grrrr!!!!!  It'll all settle down soon, I know, just stressful getting things booked right now!

Because our wedding is in October, we have to plan things ASAP!  My church requires a minimum engagement period of 6 months, so that's when we're doing it....October 28th!  We've dated off and on for 6 years, so it's not like we're waiting for anything and need a long engagement, plus Chad lives in New Jersey so it just makes it that much harder being so far away.

So far I've booked/done.....

1) A photographer (RJ Studio who did my senior pictures in high school 7 1/2 years ago and is AMAZING!)  www.rjstudio.com
2) The church!  Saturday, October 28th, 2006 @ 1:30pm (I'd like to have an evening wedding but I'm Catholic and they have Saturday evening Mass @ 5:30 so you have to be out of the church before that....the wedding won't be a Mass though!)
3) Reception facility.  Looks like we'll do Meriwether Golf Course about 10 miles from here, outside of Hillsboro.  Very beautiful place and all-inclusive so you don't have to worry about a thing....thank goodness!  Reception places are hard to come across out here...I live just far enough away from Portland (30-45 mins) that we need to stick to places on this side of the city, and they are few and far between!
4) Save the date cards!  I decided this would be a DIY project.  Mom and I bought cardstock and matching envelopes @ PaperZone (dark red color) and I've printed some samples out and they actually look pretty good!  I was thinking about ordering these through a company but it's not that big of a deal....don't want to spent ooodles on them.  But because we have east coast people too, we need to let them know of the wedding date to make reservations (we're also having an east coast reception December 2nd in New Jersey)
5) Tiara.....I ordered this on ebay like 2 weeks before I got engaged, hahahaha!  I was browsing one night and saw one I loved and thought "hey it's only 15 bucks, who cares if I hate it someday!"  So we'll see if it works :-)
6) Wedding Dress try-on appointment is set for Thursday @ 3:30!  (Two bridesmaids will be there, possibly two more will come when they get off work!  I have 5 total!)

I think that's all I've done so far?????  I need to get a florist and cake person soon as well as invitations.  I've received about a dozen samples and am excited!  We're going to do a "pocket style" invitiation to keep things better organized.  You can see examples @ http://www.cardsandpockets.com/sage.html  Our will be different colors of course (dark red, white and possibly a dark pink for the matting background)

Alright, it's 2am and I need sleep.  I took a nap so I'm not super tired, but didn't make it to church tonight (we usually do Saturday night church to beat the "Easter rush")  So we'll go @ 11am tomorrow.

HAPPY EASTER!  The Lord is risen indeed!  Enjoy all your candy and chocolate Easter bunnies!  REMEMBER TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH!
