Steve and Danno: It's a TV Cop Fantasy
So, I've fallen into the pit of a television cop show that is the Hawaii Five-0 reboot. And, in the words of My Chemical Romance, I won't go down by myself.
This is not a Hawaii Five-0 pimping post. This is a Steve/Danny pimping post. Because spoiler: Steve and Danny are married. Chin (Daniel Dae Kim, omg, so much love) and Grace Park (testing your heterosexuality since 2010) are fantastic! They are kickass. They are the second and third best reasons to watch this show, but they aren't going to be featured here. It's isn't at all because I don't adore them; it's just because I think anyone who'd even consider the show would do so because Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.
So, what it boils down to is this, the number one reason to watch this show: So you can fall in love with Steve and Danny and write me all of the fic.
Introduction
Steve McGarrett v. Jungle: BAMF, Assassin hunter
This is Steve McGarrett, BAMFing Navy SEAL turned task force leader. After the death of hi father, he was given immunity by the Governor of the great state of Hawaii to lead her special task force. He often decides to use this immunity to do things like throw a guy into a shark cage, or hang someone off a roof to make 'em talk. And he has an amazing way with children. Detective Danny Williams: Angry, Detective who detects
This is Danny Williams, father, detective and angry, angry voice of reason. He's a reluctant New Jersey export, only in Hawaii because his ex-wife moved there with his daughter and he had to follow in order to ever see her. Danny is often tasked with attempting to instill some sort of police procedure into Steve, or try to make sense of his crazy plans, or otherwise be the voice of angry reason. But don't let the nagging fool you, Danny will do it the hard way if he has to. He can even pull some badass stunts of his own. And, he does all of this while being an awesome dad.
The Basics:
Steve&Danny (Also featured: Chin and Kono, the BAMFest)
This is a picture of Steve and Danny's wedding. (Also featured: Chin and Kono, who are the baddest BAMFs to ever BAMF. They were best man and maid of honor, because one day everyone is going to wake up to find that Chin and Kono have taken over the world, and Danny and Steve wanted to be on their good side when that happens.) The most important thing to know is that Steve and Danny are married. If you don't believe me, allow me to direct you to the fanvid CBS made where they request that you not call it a bromance. Because they are married. Ask half the criminals that they arrest, or the random people on the street who feel the need to ask if Steve is talking to his wife.
Things with Steve and Danny may have started a little rough-- or, alright, really rough. Danny doesn't like Steve's manners (or lack thereof). And Steve doesn't like Danny's ties. But they talk about their problems and discuss their issues. And while Danny may be something of a nag, and Steve may decide to do ridiculous things like see how much of a mockery he can make of the legal system, they figure each other out! Because for all that Steve has a face, Danny has a tone.
So they can spend their time blatantly checking each other out
Don't think that it's all cuddles and puppies now, because for every "babe" (3) or "baby" (1) they lob to each other like it's breathing, they've still got their edges. What fun would it be if all they did is make out on the beach? Actually, don't answer that, I see the error of that thinking already. But no fear! They argue, and bicker, and bitch at each other, and get into gunfights (not with each other). And share property, and have beers after a rough day, and they are totally the most married boyfriends to ever be married.
This should is basically every single one of my favorite accidentally married fics made canon. There's even a built in kid for kid!fic! And crime fighting! And feelings! Boys having feelings while fighting crime and hunting assassins and hoisting trees. It is everything beautiful in the world.

They're bait for a serial killer who has some sort of serious hangup about tattooing loved ones' names on their skin -- of course Steve thinks this is practically like a vacation, but better, because the chances of collateral damage are higher.
|| I absolutely love the ridiculous things Danny has to do for his team. This is so funny, and such a great read.
♥ Make a Move ('Cause I Ain't Got All Night) by stillane - Danny is about 80% certain that there are deep waters buried somewhere in there.
|| This is so lovely. Looks at Steve's issues with parents from Danny's POV in a way that is so well handled it just makes me jealous.
♥ Mele Kalikimaka by kitsune_tsuki - "This is what being kidnapped must feel like," Danny says, knowing he should be more concerned about it than he is. "Or, no. No, this has to be more like some kind of delayed Stockholm Syndrome thing."
