Oh, how good does it feel to be home again!
Just got back from my trip to Camp Pecos for a family reunion. I had soo much fun, but I think sleeping in my bed is better than in some burning hot cabin on the top bunk in the far corner with about 5 inches clearance for my head... haha.
It started out with the 10 hour van ride... I got about 0 min. of sleep and had to read the whole way, trying to finish Poisonwood bible, I do not like that book... I did finish near the end and watched Ice Age with my sis on her dvd player thingy. When we finally arrived at camp, we started out by fishing! We were all gonna go out in the boat (well... not my mom... but michelle, my dad, and me) to catch some trout in the two big ponds by the cabin. Unfortunately... the most we caught was a couple litte dinky shiner fish, and one trout MAYBE twice as big as the worm we put on the hook... But whatever, michelle got the shit scared out of her by a beaver slapping its tail about 5 feet from the boat, so I was happy... To take out our anger of not catching anything good we busted out my bb gun and shot some cans up from the porch, hoping we hit some of those trout we didnt catch when we missed and hit the pond.
The next day my cousins Alan and Drew showed up and we went off with michelle looking for these cool looking salamanders that were bright orange! We found about ten and couldnt hold too many more in our hands, so we came back and decided to try our luck fishing again (to no avail...) We hiked all the way to the Upper Pond (like a mile away through dense jungle!!) and didnt catch a single trout! AND it started to POUR in the middle of it all. Later that night my Uncle Bob arrived and he brought along one of his new toys... a .22 caliber pistol! OH YEA! That thing was sooo friggin awesome! Semi-automatic and everything. loud as shit too! And thats about all that happened on Friday...
Saturday came and we went over to the reunion and had some fun... not much went on, There was a bocce tournament and Alan and me didnt make it passed round 1 cause we played the campions from the previous year(we almost beat them! they only won by one point)... After that we played a game of horseshoes and watched the finals. And that pretty much wraps up the Family Reunion...
And today we came home, read another one of the endless supply of summer assignment books and slept.
