Be Blue

I made my way through the hallways of Wolfram & Hart and came to what almost looked like Angel's old office, only it was different. This must be Eve's office. I started to look around, trying to find something that would explain what had happened to L.A. Everything here was well organized. There was and intersting looking object on the wall, a ( Read more... )

"I'm fine..thanks. So how's that split personality...or form working for you?"

I cocked my head at that remark and narrowed my eyes. So she had seen my form flicker. No matter, this human was of no importance. I would have left her there, but then she made a remark that made me think...

"So what's your connection to Wolfram and Hart?"

Another lawyer? And she assumes I work for Wolfram & Hart. I couldn't affor to have someone recognize me in this shell, recognize the connection I previously had with this place. I was growing weary of this lawfirm and everyone that worked there. And I did not need another pesky lawyer trying to devastate my plans and inform Eve that they had seen me. Even if they were young and stupid as this one appeared to be.

Quickly and without hesitation, my naïve glance shifted into a look of
precision and concentration. I let my pupils change from the soft brown of the shell’s and into the blue of my alternate form. I will put the fear of Illyria and make her shudder. She will never set foot on this building to alert the others.

"You dare question me human. Speak!"

Her eyes changed, and she looked at me with an equal amount of anger and frustration. I clearly interrupted her from doing something...that she was now not going to ever get to do.. not with that tone of voice that is.

"You dare question me human. Speak!"

"Why'd you have to turn all Jeckyl and Hyde on me? I was just wondering what you're up to...where you're going, and can I stop you...no need to go all Mr. Hyde on me, but if that form works for you.. have at it."

I wasn't impressed with the changing of the eyes, or the form..though it might have been cool if my mind was into caring and ADD, but it was focused mainly on answers..and how I lacked them.

"Decent conversations and civility. Never works with you demons though."

By this time, I had already concluded that it might have answers. Another big lead, other than scrounging the Hyperion...or what was left of it. If it didn't have answers, It'd be dead quick..If it did, it better compile. Buffy was Not in the mood, as previousley stated.

I shook my head, and waited for a response, that I figured would be something of strength, or some act of anger. I had to make sure that it was harmful. That I wasn't so sure of..pretty sure of. Time was running out, and I almost envisioned beating my answers out of her.. if she had any. But I waited. One response, that's all I need. No one attempt at hitting me, or even changing fully into her demon form. Hell even if it breathed.

I was a volcano. And I was about to erupt.

I could see that this human furious now, it curled off her in waves. She was not going to back down.

"Why'd you have to turn all Jeckyl and Hyde on me? I was just wondering what you're up to...where you're going, and can I stop you...no need to go all Mr. Hyde on me, but if that form works for you.. have at it."

Such insolence in her voice. This one will feel my wrath. I could feel the anger in me spread like wildfire. This insolent human would soon know the true power of the god king Illyria and shudder.

"Decent conversations and civility. Never works with you demons though."

Anger filled my face and the blue that filled my eyes quickly spread throughout my whole frame, and the shell's image was overrun by my true image.

"You seek a confrontation you cannot win." I simply said to her.

And without giving her a chance to make the first move, I made my power known. I suddenly lashed out at her, my hand connecting with her chin and knocking her backwards. I smiled... I was sure that my fist had surely kill or greviously wounded this measly human.

"How dare you assume that an ignorant little girl like you can defeat me!" I said to her smirking confidently. And with that I decided to throw a final punch to rid myself from this annoyance.

"You seek a confrontation you cannot win."

She then hit me, sending me sprawling back into the near wall. I caught myslef and stood up, dazed. That. Hurt. Like. Hell. I was getting in fighting stance, after I felt the hot blood rush to my face. Internal Bleeding...hadn't had that for a year or so. Two demons in one day..on the first day back to the states. And the night's not over .

She headed over to me again. Let the games begin...or fight for that matter.

"How dare you assume that an ignorant little girl like you can defeat me!"

She tried to hit me again, but I grabbed her hand, and with my free one punched, what seemed to be the hard face of metal. So I did it again.

"The only thing I actually Seek is answers. And it looks like you'd rather kill me than give me something that I want...Typical, selfish demons." I shook my head, not budging..Till she hit me again.

This human was strong, my punch didn't kill her like I had hoped. She was almost as strong if not stronger than the boy who attacked me earlier.

"The only thing I actually Seek is answers. And it looks like you'd rather kill me than give me something that I want...Typical, selfish demons."

Answers? This one talked to much. I wondered what kind of answers she seeked. They thought we were dead. And now I was back, perhaps they wanted to know where Angel and Spike were. I will never tell them. I shall find them and together we shall bring down this place again!

She shook her head and I grabed her by the throat, easily tossing her into a dumpster a mere few feet away. I sneered as I got closer.

"You will soon be dead. And you will never get your answers. I will twist your puny head off your neck, rip your skin from your pitiful body, and make you regret fighting me." As I get to her I simply backhand her, powerfully sending her across the dumpsters.

"I shall bring ruin and chaos to your precious Wolfram & Hart!"

She was fast. The fact that I was fighting with bare hands made me think about how totally unfair it was. And it was proved when she threw me in the vicinity of the dumpster 20 feet away...well it felt like 20 feet.

"You will soon be dead. And you will never get your answers. I will twist your puny head off your neck, rip your skin from your pitiful body, and make you regret fighting me."

"Now that's just a little morbid"

And once again, I flew across more dumpsters, landing near a trash can.

"I shall bring ruin and chaos to your precious Wolfram & Hart!"

It was now obvious that it didn't work for, or have anything good to do with Wolfram and Hart. So maybe I should never have pretended that I worked for them. I fueled the fire..no, I started it, then threw a gallon of gasoline in it.

I got up, and regained my stance, regardless of the pain in my head. She started to head toward me, but I grabbed one of those small trash can lids and threw it at her, somewhat staggering her backward. Getting over the mound of trash I was thrown in, I headed to her and nailed her in the face with the top of my foot. I picked up the trash lid, and hit her with it...she was ready, a step ahead of me.

This thing was stronger than me, and it didn't help that the nice amount of time I spent in Rome deciding not to train was hurting me right now. She had some answers..she established that. Just what they were, I wish I knew. If they had anything to do with Angel, it was worth fighting for. All I had to do was focus, and get a step ahead of her..

Between me trying to dodge her, and trying to get my share of hits, I got some words out.

"You really are one Bitch of a Hyde. "

"You really are one Bitch of a Hyde."

She was strong, and wouldn't give up. My head turns slightly at being punched, but it doesn't faze me.

"You shall pay dearly for your insolence. I am a the god king Illyria."

I took hold of her and head budded her, her hands went up to her forehead, and it was at that moment that I kicked her hard on the chest. She fell to the floor. I walked up to her and picked her up with one hand and slammed her hard against the ground.

"You are fighting for the wrong side little girl."

"You shall pay dearly for your insolence. I am a the god king Illyria."

This alone shocked me.

"I have to face another God?"

Before I even could react, she head butted me. To any normal girl this probably would have killed her. I had an instant headache...of course I would, but the rest of my body felt numb.. and all I could see was black. I almost fell right there, but she kicked me in the chest, instantly I tried to catch my breath, and in return fell to the ground, trying to get the wind back in me.

"You are fighting for the wrong side little girl."

The chair leg that I had used to kill the vampire was in reach of my hand. I grabbed it and opened my eyes. Slightly blurry..and at least I could breathe. By now, I could taste the blood in my mouth, and could see it all over my body.

"I am fighting for the right side." It was embarrassing that I coughed that out, but it gave me time to get up, and crack her in the head with the piece of wood..that cracked an broke, but it gave me time to kick her.

"I think you need to be the one contemplating fighting on a different side. It's because of things like you I'm here."

That might have pissed it off just a little bit. Smart move Buffy..

I was prepared to dodge everything I could, and fight back. But 30 hits of mine compared to one hit of hers. I didn't like the odds.

"I am fighting for the right side." "I think you need to be the one contemplating fighting on a different side. It's because of things like you I'm here."

I cocked my head in confusion. The right side? Which side was she fighting for? This mortal...Perhaps she was not in league with Wolfram & Hart. However, I could not afford to make any mistakes. Wolfram & Hart like to play mind games, and I was not about to become a pawn on their chess board. What was this human to me? She was nothing to me...My only loyalty was to Angel and Spike who were trapped in another dimension. I needed to find them and this girl was only wasting my time.

"You insolent little fiend. I do not know you, or why it is that you are her for, but I grow tired of you..."

I grabed her again and punched her stomach, she fell to the floor, I flashed a smile, but she only looked up at me. I could see a certain determination in her eyes.

She was hurt, but she was also strong... I had to acknowlege that, she had spirit, but that would not save her on this night. She was in my way and she was wasting my time. I walked up and picked her up by the throat. I pinned her againt the wall.

"Why do you insist on fighting? I am a god. You are only slowing down the inevitable."

"You insolent little fiend. I do not know you, or why it is that you are her for, but I grow tired of you..."

I went in for another hit..and then another kick..not phasing her, while this time, I'm standing here, with blood on my face. I was so going to feel that in the morning..if there was a morning. She hit me, just as I was thinking that. I hit the floor again. They were too hard, and I once again had to catch my breath. My wheeze, should have made her happy. She was beating me, but I wasn't going down until I either got my answers, or every bone in my body was broken. I looked up at her. I started to get up again, and she grabbed me by the throat, not helping my inability to breathe situation. I tries to pry her fingers away from my constricted airway, but it wasn't working.

"Why do you insist on fighting? I am a god. You are only slowing down the inevitable."

At this I kicked her Hard..this caused her to loosen her grip, and gave me the opportunity to keep kicking her till she let me go. I uppercut her, barely making an impression...but at least I was making one. No matter how small..

"Because it's my Job.."

I hit her again, her listening, but my hitting her didn't phase her feeling..but it made me feel better.

"Because it's my destiny.."

This time I kicked her, maybe breaking a bone in the bottom of my foot.

"Because I want to."

Every bone in my body was aching..No. Burning with the pain that I hadn't felt for years. . I was struggling with every breath. But I wasn't letting her win that easily. I'm Buffy. I'm the slayer, because I want to be..not for me, but for everyone else..and most of all, for Angel.

She kicked me hard and was able to get free from my grasp. She was not about to give up this fight. But I was not going to let her win either.

"Because it's my Job.."

She hit me hard. I only flinched.

"Because it's my destiny.."

This time she kicked me hard. I almost fell back wards but I reganed my balance.

"Because I want to."

I could see she had been struggling with every punch. I could see the pain on her face. But she was relentless. Could it be?

"Slayer?" I said.

And just as quickly as I had begun to fight with her I stopped. I stood in front of her and cocked my head. Yes...this has to be her. I knew what the other slayer...Faith...looked like from the shell's memories. But this one...this one was strong, and of age, and she had a relentless spirit.

She had fought well. She had proved to be a worthy opponent and worthy of my audience. And she was here, in Los Angeles. ...Looking for answers... ...Looking for Angel...

She stopped, looking at me with the weird eyes, like she was confused, just as I went for another punch. But I stopped.

"Slayer?" For some reason, I didn't think she wanted to fight anymore, because she just looked at me, not raising her hands, not raising her voice. Just looked at me and cocked her head to the side. I wasn't about to trust her, after all, she did kick my ass. I wasn't going to let down my fighting stance. I was going to wait for her to give me something anything that could prove this fight to be worth it. I stared at her, because we seemed to reach an agreement in something...that the fighting was getting old.

Thank God.

I just looked at her. She got my attention.

"Slayer..yes." Maybe she should have asked me that before she decided to go crazy with er God self. But my attention was not leaving her, waiting for any movement of her about to zone in on me again.

"Slayer..yes."

So she was the Slayer... This was the famed Buffy Anne Summers. This was most pleasing to my ears. I could tell she was leery of me. But this did not disturb me in the least.

She was tired. She had taken all of my wrath and survived. I almost hoped tonights events would have transpired differently.

"I been looking for you Buffy Anne Summers."

I was sure she had questions. And I had all of her answers...

I could feel the blood rush to my face, and every where else I was throbbing. My body was beginning to swell, and it wasn't the end. not for a long shot. I didn't trust this thing this God. Maybe a relative to Glor-...

"I been looking for you Buffy Anne Summers."

I stopped. It knew me? I'm a slayer, but this was odd. It wasn't set out to kill me, I knew that..so being tense, I eased up..only a little.

"Why. What is it that you want from me." I couldn't believe I was having a civil conversation with this... thing..

But it knew my middle name.
