Oh, so she didn't have any brilliant response to his pointing out the lack of sense she was making in her stay with Eliot. Well, at least that meant she was admitting the flaw in her logic, even if she didn't say so. At least, Spike would tell himself that until he believed it.

"Alright then. Consider this a permanent invite. You're welcome at my place at any point you want to be there." He caught the look on her face. Buffy looked flat out exhausted. "Including right now if you'd like to take a nap."

Spike couldn't deny that he very much enjoyed Buffy's new displays of affection. But not even those could make him think she was any less crazy for believing that having her at some unknown bloke's house was good for him.

"Oh yeah. I'm sure staying up all night and day worrying that my...that you're being dismembered or some such will do wonders for me. In fact, we should have tried that when I was crazy in the basement. Would have cured me right up."

That had almost been a mistake. Spike had almost attempted to define this strange series of interactions they'd been involved in for the past few days. That was a very bad idea. They probably weren't ready for that sort of thing yet. They certainly hadn't talked about it.

"A little late for that, Eliot gave me a key."

Buffy's head was still facing to look at Spike. "But I promise we'll have frequent pajama parties. If that makes you feel any better about the situation."

She turned a little red when he had noticed she was tired. That was pretty embarassing, but what was more embarassing was what she was about to say to Spike. The truth was she hadn't really been sleeping because she had a horrifying slayer-vision she was keeping secret. She was afraid to fall asleep. She hadn't had one since Sunnydale. She decided the best idea was to go to sleep when she was nearly about to pass out. That way her body wouldn't have the energy to even create dreams.

"Your what? Your girl? Come on, we both know you were going to say it." Buffy's facial expression was priceless. One brow was slightly quirked and a wolf-like grin pulled at the corners of her lips. Yep. She called him out on it. "I'm not going to get dismembered, or tortured, or anything. Quit your worrying -- or I'm going to have to resort to violence." Quick to change the subject.

"I'm not taking a nap, if I nap I'll sleep the rest of the day and night away." There was a slight feeling of fear, the look in her eyes would show Spike that Buffy was clearly a liar. "And if I wanted to nap right now, I'd just curl up on the couch. It's comfortable."
