"Right, good idea." She scribbled ; 'WANTED:' in large letters on the top and then on the bottom she wrote 'PAPER DEMON Note: Not drawn to scale' Then she grabbed a piece of tape from the desk and opened her office door, posting it up for anyone who walked by in the hallway to see it. They would think her mad. She closed the door almost all the way and left it cracked.

"Yeah me too." That was all the she had said to Spike in regards to not killing eachother. She smirked and shook her head at the comment he threw at Eliot. She was feeling playful until he started to get all jealous-like.

"I am staying with him." Her eyes rolled. "I met him three days ago, get over it?" She gave Eliot and apologetic look. Eliot tossed her the key and she caught it. And yeah, Spike heard right -- He made her dinners and breakfasts.

"Thanks I don't know what time I'll be in. I've got these papers to sess out and then I've got patrolling to do." Yeah, she was going to go patrolling. "I noticed Angel doesn't really do much of anything on the streets anymore since he started working here. Someone's gotta pick up his slack. I'll see you later, maybe we'll do Breakfast?" She asked. That would probably make Spike's temper rise a little more.

Quickly Eliot slid the last folders from the pile into their proper place in the cabinent, still grinning to himself about the paper demon. As long as fire killed it and it was small enough to stalk the halls of Wolfram and Hart this supposed Paper Demon was something he'd make a point of trying to slay.

Not really, but hey, he was amoung slayers and demon hunters. He had promised Sophie he would try to fit in and not get into trouble while she was away.

One of two was pretty good for him.

"Breakfast?" He commented with that grin of his. "Sounds good. And hey, be careful out there tonight. Lot of unsavory types in this city. A girl like you could get hurt." He teased just a little as he headed for the door. "Don't know how well slayer healing works but if ya do, wake me up when ya get in." Not that he was likely to be asleep.

He paused and turned, nodding his head toward Spike as if he was unaware of the other's jelousy. "It was good meetin' ya Spike, see ya again some other time. See you at breakfast B."

And he was out the door.

Spike stood quietly and did something he would definitely not classify as brooding while Eliot finished up. He would argue with Buffy after the other man left.

"Ta," Spike called to Eliot's departing back. He would have replied that it was nice to meet him too...but he was far from sure that was the case, so he kept it simple.

Then he turned back to Buffy and exploded.

He paced the room as he ranted at her, unable to contain his nervous energy. "Are you bleeding crazy? In what way are you sure that he's a good guy? You know as well as I do that Wolfram & Hart is trying to suck our souls away from us as quickly and efficiently as possible, and you're jumping into being roomies with a stranger? When was the last time a new person in your life didn't turn out to be trying to kill you?"

And so the apocalypse might have just been held in Buffy's office. This was just what she needed her first day at Wolfram and Hart. If there was one thing that hadn't changed with Spike it was his insecurities getting the best of him. Even if that wasn't what he wanted to call it or admit that's what it all boiled down to. At least he was nice enough to wait until Eliot left. She had to give him that.

"I'm not crazy. I'm not sure if he's good, and news flash Spike, I don't care." She snapped, looking up from her papers over to him. "I'm his room mate exactly for that reason. He doesn't know me that well, and I don't know him. If he tries to kill me I'm more than positive I could handle myself." Buffy was no longer happy, her mood had flipped to a complete one-eighty. "He seems nice enough, anyways. He's human, what's the worst he could do? Are you jealous right now?!" Buffy shouted. "Is that what it is?! You're so jealous!"

And then.. she started laughing -- she knew just how to push Spike's buttons. Making a joke of something that was a serious matter to him was a no no.

"Humans aren't harmless, Buffy!" Spike yelled, exasperated. "Just because they're weaker than you doesn't mean they can't do just as much damage. Can't you remember what humans did to me? You may be the Slayer, but you're just as susceptible to magic and technology as the rest of humanity."

Buffy wasn't wrong to think he was jealous, but that wasn't the only reason he was acting like this. He was also legitimately worried. There were a million things they didn't know about Wolfram & Hart, and any one of them could get her killed. "And of course I'm jealous! But that's not the only reason we're having this conversation. And what exactly is so funny?"

"I laugh, because you're jealous."

And then she laughed again.

"Ha, Ha. See, me laughing at you."

Buffy's eyes rolled. "What's he going to do, pull a rabbit out of a freakin' hat and destract me with it's cuteness-- then stab me with a knife while I'm not looking?" A sigh escaped her lips and she put away the last folder that she was going to organize for the rest of the day. "You want me to be honest with you? The guy's a thief for, all he's got is some fancy martial arts moves and the ability to use a weapon. In fact, he hates the supernatural, but the paycheck kind of compensates for the hatred." She moved to sit in one of the couches in her office, one leg crossing over the other. "I've spent the past three days talking to him until five in the morning, I am in no way worried about him. I'll be fine. Will you?"

Unsure of why his jealousy was so amusing to her, Spike rolled his eyes and chalked it up as one of the many mysteries of women.

"I don't trust him or anyone else until I've got a reason to. You know that, Buffy. And I don't trust a single being that this company has introduced me to. Angel's original team and the Sunnydale crowd, that's it. No reason to trust anyone else, far as I'm concerned." He considered for a moment, then answered, "But I'll be fine, long as you are. I know jealousy is destructive, but I can't help it. But if he hurts you in any way, I swear I'll rip his head off his shoulders, soul or no soul."

"I never said I trusted him. I don't trust anyone around here just the same as you do. Do you really think I'm that stupid? He's the closest thing to normal, it's the only reason why I'm staying with him. When I'm there I know I don't have to deal with all this Wolfram and Hart crap. Besides, it's only temporary." She explained. She didn't know if it was really going to be temporary, but she was going to test the waters.

"There will be no hurting of me, and there most certainly will be no ripping off of heads. I can assure you there won't be any need."

She pat the spot on the couch beside her.

"I don't know why your jealous. I mean other than the fact that I'm going home to him instead of yo-" She knew that wasn't the way to word it. It made her sound like she was sleeping with Eliot and their friendship was completely platonic. "Not, no that's not the way to put it. I'd gladly have stayed with you Spike, if you had bothered to even ask." He had asked her to stay over that one night after she had tried to get him to kill her and that had been it. She had crashed at Eliot's the next night and invited her to stay again. The two never even slept in the same bed together.

"Sit down and take a minute to -- oh wait, vampires don't need to breathe. Well, sit and relax. You're getting all worked up over nothing."

"You don't trust him, but you're just fine sleeping in his house and eating food he cooks. Makes tons of sense. Why didn't I see it before?" Spike was trying to stop. He really was. But he just couldn't understand why Buffy would intentionally put herself near someone she couldn't trust completely.

He chose not to comment about how the ripping off of heads wouldn't be necessary. Time would prove her right, or it wouldn't. No need to argue about it now.

Sitting down on the couch next to Buffy, Spike made sure to listen carefully to what she had to say. "I didn't think you had to be invited. Would have thought you'd know you're more than welcome at my place anytime of the day or night. I'd love to have you staying with me." He ducked his head and probably would have blushed if he could. "Being near you tends to put me in a much better mood."
