Wesley had stopped paying attention when the girls went into their own little world.He was slightly jealous that Fred's attention was so fixed on Cordelia that she didn't answer his question.

"We should go get Angel now!" Fred said looking to Wesley as the we. The could trick Angel upstairs, make sure there was a kiss before they let them out of the office and then she and Wesley could have some alone time of there own.

Cordy shook her head quickly. "No, Fred, it's okay. I'll talk to him tomorrow, I promise. Anyway, Angel's supposed to be my best friend, no matter what else might be going on aside from that. If he has a problem just having a conversation with me, then we've got all kinds of issues we haven't even thought of yet. Anyway, you and Wes just figured things out. It's okay to focus on that for at least a few hours and bask in the glory of finally getting what you want. We can worry about me later."

"What was that you said to me about avoiding my problems?" Wesley asked Cordy. He wasn't going to let her walk away from this one after what she did to him.

"I won't be able to relax until I know everything is good with you," Fred said honestly.

"I'm fine," Cordelia promised both of them. "I swear. I'm not avoiding the problem. I just know that Angel has got to be busy reigning in the new recruits and I don't want to pull him away from something important. I swear, first thing tomorrow, I'll talk to him." Smiling, she added, "Anyway, I'm much better than I was when you two first came in. You reminded me that I'm good at something other than getting visions and Angel's coffee."

"What on earth would make you doubt that?" Fred asked, Cordy had to be one of the most amazing people she had ever met...

Wesley looks sad when Cordy said she wasn't good at things. "That is not true... Please don't say that about yourself." It reminded him of himself. He always said those kings of things. Cordy didn't need to be like him.

"It's just that..." Cordy paused, trying to figure out how to put her issues into words. To Fred, she said, "You've got the science." She looked at Wes and said, "And you've got the research and the demon knowledge and the towering stacks of books. When I was out, suddenly everybody moved up in the world. It's hard to figure out what my place here is. I can't just sit around all day waiting for the Powers to deign to drop into my head."

"Oh god did we all go through that one or what?" Fred said, "The first three weeks I was here I had no clue how anything worked, I mean the lab was one giant noise maker as far as I could tell. It gets better, well it did get better and now it's kinda got worse but uhh... that's another topic."

[silentwasp]

"I still do not know why I am here." Wesley said calmly. "You are not the only one." He looked at Cordy.

"Thank god." Cordy laughed a little. "Everybody just seemed to have it so together. Sometimes it's tough to see past that. even for me."

"See... You a me can figure that out together." Wesley smiled at her.

Fred smiled, "Yeah I mean I was kinda against the idea of ever coming here but everyone else seemed to be going along and, well it's worked out for the most part. We've done a lot of good between piles of paper work. And Charles... it's sad to say but I've never seen him happier, and after about eight screamings I think my staff might sort of think I'm in charge now..."

Wesley got up and walked behind Fred. He put his arms around her from behind and kissed her neck lightly. "That dress looks beautiful on you." He whispered.

Fred blushed profusely. "I never had the guts to wear it before..." she almost squeaked out.
